i mean no one on the server i choose (ifrit) even talks, let alone speaks english. i haven't even managed to see a single person join anything on the duty finder. how am i supposed to even do the main quest line. im level 20 and ive just paid for it now i regret it. is it just me or is this server broke. i mean i cant ask for help i cant even post of the forums cause im too low level. wtf

I had to check what Data Center Ifrit was even on, haha.

Ifrit is on a JP data center, so my guess is that most people speak Japanese. I'd recommend moving (either by transfer or new character, since you are still low-level) to either the Primal, Aether, or Chaos data centers (Primal and Aether are NA, while Chaos is EU so you will meet more people who speak French/German in addition to English).
If the problem is you live in Australia or somewhere like that, I hear Tonberry is a very popular choice for English speakers on a Japanese server.

I don't know how big the JP data center servers are, so I can't let you know if they are crowded or not. My server is quiet, but not dead. Balmung is the biggest server, because so many people flock to RP there. I believe it's the same with Gilgamesh.

If you really are having a tough time, I would really suggest changing servers

it didn't even suggest me a server and it seems there like 28 people online :/ so yeah i guess il have to pay for a server transfer which is annoying. but before i do that is it actually worth it i mean. im a gladiator and it seems imposible to even do the level 16 quest dungeon

Hmm well personally I would just start another character on another server, because you are so low level. Which part of the dungeon are you having trouble with? If it's just getting into the dungeon I can guarantee you it's much easier on at least the Chaos and Aether data centers (when you do instanced content it pulls from the whole data center and not just your sever). I have a character on each and have tanked with both before.

If it's doing the dungeon once you get in, then at least getting rid of a language barrier would be a place to start. Gladiators are tanks so they are expected to engage the monsters first, and keep all the aggro. With Gladiator, I'd pull with Shield Lob then after they are closer, Flash a few times, then start the combo. Also don't feel too bad if you can't hold the aggro, lots of people who are level synched will pull the hate from your regardless, because even while level synched they will generate more aggro.

Edit: Yeah it'd be nice if they'd suggest the servers. I know they just give you the basic area each data center is in (or you can be like my friends who picked a server based on their favorite, that's how I ended up on an EU server, haha.)

if you are Australian, Behemoth is a good place to roll, even if your not, the FC i am in is really helpful, and i'm always willing to help someone run a dungeon or whatever if your in need of a tank or healer, also willing to provide help to aspiring tanks or healers as well

Tonberry is a good realm, but near impossible to roll on given it's so popular, i tried to when i recently returned to FFXIV myself.

You chose Ifrit, which is a server on the Japanese data centre. Not only that, you chose a data centre which does not have either of the two English player populated servers, Elemental-Tonberry and Mana-Masumune.

That's why you aren't going to find anyone speaking in English. Your duty finder queue will also be very slow since I assume you only ticked English for Duty Finder and there are barely any English players on Gaia data centre so your queue would be extremely slow. You can choose all four languages for duty finder if you want a faster queue.

Anyway, if you want to play in a Japanese data centre, then you would be better off transferring to Tonberry. If you want to be in an NA or EU data centre, then transfer to one. The data centre screen on the main screen of the game shows which data centre belongs to which region clearly. You can choose NA, EU or JP.

Thanks I assumed it wouldnt of let me choose an jap server. I had no idea which one to choose lol. Il transfer to an english server then. Any good recoomandation for a busy english server

Well, Balmung is probably the busiest, and from what I've heard about it apparently has quite a friendly community. It may, however, be a bit too busy, as it's become so popular that it's most often locked for making new characters there. That can also cause issues with resources that are limited across the server (like housing plots).

If by a busy server, you simply mean one that's not dead and you can meet friendly people and find groups to run content with, then I'd like to recommend Coeurl, where I play. Lots of friendly considerate people here who like welcoming new players, and it seems to be at a nice middle ground in terms of population, where there are plenty of people to do stuff with, but not so many that it becomes a competition for resources (whether that's a Hunt mob or a housing plot).
(Oh, it's a North American server in the Aether data center, so NA evenings are our busy time.)

Wherever you pick, I'd start by making a new character there and try it out, see if you like the server. Once you've decided on a home you like better than Ifrit, you can decide whether to transfer your original character or make that new alt into your next main character.

P.S. Elemental, Gaia, and Mana are Asia; if you are considering those servers. These are located in Japan so you have less latency issues from the Eastern Pacific (such as our Aussie friends).
