I think overall 1.19 is going to evolve into mostly good, but I have to admit I'm getting frustrated with various aspects of it, yet I have to keep reminding myself we're still very much in transition.
My most recent frustration is when I look at a mage weapon I'm having serious issues understanding exactly what the attributes of the weapon are and how they affect me as a mage. Pre-patch we could see the various mage related stats in the weapon description that allowed us to make a clear decision about which weapon was better - namely magic attack, magic accuracy, magic crit rate, etc.. The difference in weapons was very clear and evident.
Please note, I did read the patch notes about the various changes in attributes, enfeeb, healing, enhancing, etc.
Tonight is the very first opportunity I had to peruse the market for new gear and the very first item I looked at is a new jade crook. I see damage, attack speed, and damage type blunt, which I could care about as a mage. Down below I see magic accuracy +15 and magic crit rate +25. This new jade crook is a level 45 weapon.
I then compared this to the level 48 dated jade crook +2 that I've been using and I was shocked to see that the new version reflected a +4 improvement in magic accuracy, and +3 improvement in magic crit rate over the 48 +2.
Now I'm not happy about this at all, but I've learned thru the years that SE can do anything they want - ergo a new R45 jade crook (NQ) is > than my R48 +2 - fine.
Beyond this, I started to look at the various conjurer weapons on the market and the only thing I noticed beyond the meele stats of damage and attack speed, was small improvements in mostly magic accuracy and magic crit rate.
So I bought a R38 dated yew crook and I equipped it and I compared my attributes vs. my R48 dated jade crook +2. Attack magic enfeebling magic, healing magic, enhancing magic and magic evasion did not change. The only thing in my attribute menu that changed was magic accuracy increased with the dated jade from 409 to 410. I also got an increase in magic crit of +2, and I have no idea how to gauge how significant that is, but it can't be much.
So then I got extreme. I bought a weathered cane, and I equipped that and compared my menu attributes to my dated jade crook +2. Again, attack magic enfeebling magic, healing magic, enhancing magic and magic evasion did not change. The only difference was an increase in magic accuracy of +11, from 399 to 410, and of course the weathered cane had no magic crit, so +22 there.
Save your calculators, the magic accuracy improvement over a weatherd cane is less than 2.8%. I can get more than that equipping 3 pearl rings.
So either I'm missing something very big here, or I'm way too concerned about which weapon I'm using as conjurer. Furthermore, I have no idea how to judge which weapon is best for me aside from some miniscule increase in macc and mag crit.
Now, if I'm missing something here I would be ever-indebted to anyone who could make me see the errors of my logic. If, in fact, I'm reading this right, then SE you have some explaining to do.
