Indeed, it is.

Shaggy short ponytail vs straight long ponytail -- Braid going across forehead along side then looping around ponytail vs braid starting on side of head to near the back -- Braid continuation hanging down on shoulder vs nothing.

And for the winner? Cleaned up brushed version of the Lightning hair with the forehead showing, or pretty much a minimally adjusted version of a number of different hairs already in the game, with what could essentially be a piece of head gear (the flower) to make it stand out.

Sorry, I don't care how harsh it sounds to the winner, but when comparing it to the second and third runner-up entries, it makes them look 100% unique.

As for what my original comment, I only wished the runner-up won, as out of what was on offer, I liked that best... but, to tell the truth, I didn't really think much of the options available at all, too many minor variations of what's already in-game, or entries looking too similar. There's a number of pictures shown in that live letter w/e thingy that should have been there instead.

If they ever do this again, I hope they have a much larger pool of drawings... actually, no, the only thing that should be drawn is the hair, using the template heads.

Instead, a bland looking hybrid between the GS ponytail and the Lightning hair won, woo...

It's basically Serah's hair :/ buh, I don't want another waifu hairstyle...as my bf calls it lol...

So lame...the other one had way more votes and that one only won cuz it was posted after. I guess SE forgot how to do a poll, which they did many times in 1.x on here.

So many good choices... And we get... That, instead... But, I'm not blaming the voters, I actually blame the way the voting was designed. If you'll notice, the winners don't even have as many Likes as some of the runners up, but what they do have is a very close proximity to the end of the list. Which means, by the stupid rules SE put forth... They had a much better shot at winning, than the other choices near the first of the list.

I'm really happy about the female winner. It's simple but still cute imo. The 1st female runner up is the same ponytail we got with HW, just with a braid slapped onto it.
The male one is cute too! I'll definitely have to remake one of my retainers into a Miqo boy to use it when it comes out.

Beyond caring anymore, congrats to the winners, shame on SE, and all that rot. I'm not against a side ponytail however I feel the accessory is what made the hairstyle not the actual style itself the way it's drawn it's clear the artist wanted to feature that enormous flower that isn't part of the players head unless we're becoming potted plants in 3.1. I feel styles that featured unneeded additions or props should have been auto disqualified. An example of essential accessories, combs, pins, minor very small additions which are not large or noticeable. The minute that hairstyle goes into game there will be an immediate forum posted cry to let people dye it, mark these words. A side pony tail is fine but what won that contest was the flower, not the hair. I say implement runner up 1 and add a few Flower head pieces call it a day.

Personally i chose Runnerup 1 after both styles I preferred were clearly falling behind on day 4, i still have no idea where all those braids are coming from, imagine how long her hair would have to be it makes no sense, creative yes logical no but the style is all hair there's no fancy uncustomizable ornament involved it is a legitimate style of hair. The winning style looks like wet hair held down by an enormous undyable plant and is far from an adequate representative for the side ponytail look as it does not feature the hair alone. I feel SE could have handled voting better with an anonymous poll at the top of each voting thread that accepted one vote then locked that user from making any further votes. I feel they should try again even if they are running close to 3.1's deadline yes sad for the artists to get a win then lose the prize because of a revote but I feel there was enough trouble with the way this was run that it is essential to redo the entire process. I realize western style democratic elections are not approved of worldwide i'm not sure how they do it in Japan but I guarantee there are 6 different ways this should have been handled since this did not even qualify as a popularity contest since the final numbers would have been taken to represent the true strength of support for the winner and an obvious loser.
