They're located somewhere other than the "hairstyle contest" and hairstyle options menu, both locations where they have no place being.

While I think results ultimately would end at the same conclusion (this effeminate Rundelhaus haircut that looks best on Midland hyur & catboys, who can have the boy band look), entries would certainly be different had people been allowed to include facial hair.

I kind of wish that male winner could be used on girls. It would look pretty cute on a lady, I think-- a bit curlier and more feminine than the current short style that is available.

I knew exactly what they would be when I clicked it, but I still got really sad. I hope they implement the female runner-up later on. I'm not a fan of the boring, unflattering as all heck female winner, but congrats to the winner and those who like it.

Shaggy short ponytail vs straight long ponytail -- Braid going across forehead along side then looping around ponytail vs braid starting on side of head to near the back -- Braid continuation hanging down on shoulder vs nothing.

And for the winner? Cleaned up brushed version of the Lightning hair with the forehead showing, or pretty much a minimally adjusted version of a number of different hairs already in the game, with what could essentially be a piece of head gear (the flower) to make it stand out.

Sorry, I don't care how harsh it sounds to the winner, but when comparing it to the second and third runner-up entries, it makes them look 100% unique.

As for what my original comment, I only wished the runner-up won, as out of what was on offer, I liked that best... but, to tell the truth, I didn't really think much of the options available at all, too many minor variations of what's already in-game, or entries looking too similar. There's a number of pictures shown in that live letter w/e thingy that should have been there instead.

If they ever do this again, I hope they have a much larger pool of drawings... actually, no, the only thing that should be drawn is the hair, using the template heads.

And am I the only one wondering how the female winner will look on females Aura ? I can't help myself but think it just doesn't fit with the horns... o_O Even though I like it, I only thought about it a moment ago (I play a miqo'te, not like I care about the horns xD)

Facial hair would need to be a separate contest, though. Any facial hair options (which are separate in character creation) need to work with any hairstyle, not just a very particular design. And any hairstyles submitted needs to work with any facial hair option (including none).

I don't understand why people are saying this about the winning female hairstyle *at all*. Beyond both having a ponytail on the left, I'm just not seeing any noteworthy similarities with how each (it and the Lightning hairstyle) ultimately make a head look. Thing is, there's a bunch of hairstyles with ponytails. And be glad that it's over on the left instead of the right, because the right ear is the only place a lot of single earrings (like the bluebird earring) show up.

If anything, the winning male hairstyle has more in common with the Lightning hairstyle for females. It's like Lightning's hair on a humid/frizzy day sans ponytail.
