Don't want to spoil the bosses story-wise so videos are no-no for me, so I usually read short tactics and kamikaze the bosses because it is more fun to me, maybe at the expense of the group but a short explaination wouldn't hurt.

There are literally dozens of streamers that state they're spoiler free, or give warnings when they can't avoid it. That's an awful excuse.

But no, if you want to caster LB the two bosses on A1, do it when they come down from the jump. They both are RIGHT NEXT to each other until they're repositioned.

While I agree with your dislike of videos because they bring spoilers, there are many decent guides out there. I use this site: http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wi...ander:_Gordias never had problems. "Short tactics" doesn't sound enough, but maybe I am just not understanding it.
A1N is pretty easy and with reading the guide you should have close to no problems.

Alex Normal, same as EX Primals, is optional "harder" content, and everyone going in really SHOULD read a guide before going there. Feel free to go blind into 4-man content, or NM/HM Primals, but anything above, you should be prepared.

And now your opinion goes out the window. You are basically saying that everyone else's fun is irrelevant and that their time is unimportant.

Then they're missing the point of the video. The best way to watch or read a guide is to get acquainted with the mechanics and know what they do. If you're watching a video to execute a mechanic a certain way because "so and so told me so", then you're doing it wrong.

Well... to take an example from t9... there were several methods of spreading out the rocks. Most videos displayed one method (though fairly enough usually said there were several methods, but 'this method' was the one the video poster found the easiest to learn), but if you watched the 'wrong' method for the group you ended up with, you wouldn't know what to do when that bit came up, and you'd not only get completely confused, you'd also screw over the 'experienced' people trying to do it their way. That doesn't mean the 'newcomer' did the preparations the wrong way.

Different groups do things very differently. On A4 (have run it several times tonight to get a drop for a friend with bad RNG luck), I've had people marking out A/B/C with DPS people 'claiming' one letter. I've had people marking out A/B/C, then get impatient when I'm waiting to see if anyone's going to claim a spawn point before pulling. I've had people not do any marking at all. That's just a minor detail, which isn't really part of the 'strategy' itself, but it still shows a difference in method and approach.

Either way, if you say you're new there and ask for any pointers, it's fair enough for the experienced people to not have to give said pointers. But if they don't, it's also not fair of them to bash the new person for not getting the mechanics. They said they were new (plus you get the 'one or more players hasn't completed this' message), and when you have someone new (who isn't an alt of an experienced player) you really shouldn't expect to down it on the first try.

But rolling up with no idea whatsoever of what you should be doing, in endgame, (on a tank, no less,) and expecting everyone else to tell you is... lazy, at my most polite. And seemingly specific to the NA data centres?
