    Oh How about let's. Let's reference FFXI a lot, because while not every game is perfect, that one had good things that contributed to its longevity. Justin Bieber is popular because there's a lot of hormonal teenagers in this world who haven't been exposed to other types of music, does that mean his music is super good? If you say yes, I'll respect that, but I will have some doubts about your tastes. Also if you play a song on the radio over and over, how can people not know about it? The same with FFXIV. It was advertised waaaaayyy more than FFXI. FFXI wasn't really advertised much in the west like someone said. For a not so much advertised game, lasting for over 10 years is a big feat, so, more respect to that game.

    This is only marginally true. Pharos Sirius was unappealing because there were easier alternatives in the roulette. A couple of the boss fights might as well been primal EX lite because they actively punished the party for DPS'ing too fast. The fact of the matter was, people wanted to take the path of least resistance (understandably) for their dailies.

    It has nothing to do with "the community can't handle challenging 4-man content" more than "the dev team shouldn't decide to make 1 out of 3 options, all offering the same rewards, noticeably a bigger hassle than the other 2."

    In that patch there was PS, Copperbell Hard, and Haukke Manor. The mistake was they didn't offer much more tomes then WP and AK so everyone kept doing WP and AK to cap cause they were much shorter and easier. You could run 2-3 WP in the time it took to do 1 PS and get double or triple the tomes.

    That's because the combat is one dimensional. No matter what the trash mobs might be capable of, they have to be beatable by a group of people with one tank, one healer, and two damage dealers. Abilities to redirect aggro or crowd control monsters are not consistent to any particular role, so they cannot be strictly enforced as requirements for beating a pack of trash mobs (aka, no "CC or die" trash pulls). On the other hand, they can't have enemies use crowd control abilities on anything except the DPS because of a reliance on long cooldowns and melee stuns as the only effective counters. That means countering enemy spells cannot be strictly enforced as a win condition against trash mobs either. Finally, they can't create ambushes of any real worth because enemies do not respond to physical obstacles that would allow for choke points to be effective.

    I was saying ffxi did a good job in making nearly every monster have a use...how the heck is that a bad thing? FFXI is my favorite mmo, where on earth did you get that I don't like it from my post? Okaaay...

    Precisely. I bet that if SE did bring much complicated dungeons, raids, instances, or whatever. to the game, eventually you will see complaints on how difficult they are. Furthermore, hardcore players would constantly yap about how some players are terrible because they don't have the skill like they do to complete the hard content. As of now, there are several players that still need help completing the content that we already have.

    Overall, some players outta be grateful for what they got from SE because SE could just say, **** you and not make anymore patches. To make things easier, cancel your subscription if you're so bored, and play something else.
