I suspect there'd be a lot of bickering in DF groups because different people want different paths.It'd be neat to add alternate paths to some (not all) dungeons similar to how Bravely Default did it. Throw in 3 paths - 1 dangerous / short path, 1 middle path and 1 long but easy path. You could go through the dangerous path, only if you had a very coordinated team, and it would get you to the boss the fastest. The middle path would be like what we have now. The long path would be lots of running, but the trash would be easy to kill. This may be the best path if you have swiftsong :P
Though in GW2, most people put up what path they wanted in the party finder and formed around that. Unless things changed since I last played it, it isn't exactly spontaneous.
Yeah you could place in PF "Neverreap Path 2 farm for eso" or whatever. Don't see what's wrong with that.
I never used a PF with GW2 though? Just shouts "LFG CoT path 1 farm" or whatever.
If they did implement a multifaceted dungeon they could have weekly or daily quest that says "The beast in Section A, B, or C are out of control; go and restore balance to the dungeon" (Bonus for the day/week 25 extra tombstones or 50 Seals --if they still plan on having purpose for them in the future--)
