After hitting 60, it seems like every player is stuck grinding the same two dungeons every day. If they miss more than one day a week, they'll be behind on esoterics unless they make up for it by some much slower method. It's also boring, and promotes burnout, since neither dungeon is challenging with our current gear level and are run roughly every other day for months.
Beyond that, there is content in the game that new players will not be able to see because they're no longer current. Nobody is running raids anymore, because they're slow ways of getting outdated gear. Same for Coil, which I wasn't willing to invest time into when it was current and now can't find a party to clear it for the story. EX primals are saved from this because of the mounts that drop, but King Mog is difficult to farm and consequentially his crafted gear is getting more rare and more expensive.
So, to promote diversity in a capped player's playstyle, combat burnout, and to make outdated content relevant again, I suggest more roulettes become available. Here are some examples I would love to see.
Raid Roulette: Chooses from any non-current 24 man raid. At the moment, we only have three: Labyrinth of the Ancients, Syrcus Tower, and World of Darkness. At the moment, it's a beyond 30 minute wait for any role to get into, because nobody is running them. Anyone who wants to go through the questline for it, farm glamour gear, or hunt the Onion Knight card, will be unable to because of this. Adding this roulette will allow them to do this, along with give max level players challenging content to grind as an option to cap their weekly esoterics.
Because of the length of each raid, I suggest a high payout, but a low reset time. I suggest at least 150 esoterics, with a one week lockout.
Extreme Roulette: Chooses from any non-current 8-man trial of great difficulty. This includes extreme primals, and the Coils. Adding this will allow new players to clear quests stuck in their journal, by giving them skilled players to party with. And it will, again, allow max leveled players challenging content to play as an alternative to expert dungeons.
Because of the high skill needed to complete these trials, I suggest it only be available to people who have already cleared all the trials selectable through this roulette. And because of how difficult it would be to unlock, and the difficulty of the trials, it would offer a large payout. I suggest at least 50 esoterics per roulette, with a daily lockout.
Random Roulette: Selects any duty not in extreme or raid roulette. Specifically, I want this because of the difficulty finding a party for Hildebrad trails, and the last couple guildhests. This would be redundant if trial roulette still required unlocking all trials to run, and if guildhest roulette was a viable source of exp past 40. But honestly, the thought of being able to do all content and being paid with the best gear seems great to me. And since the other roulettes are kind of useless now, and would burn me out too quickly if they were all useful, I think this is a better solution.
Remove Main Scenario Roulette: It's been, two years since this was released? And still, only two dungeons are selectable with it. At best, players are going to be spamming this every day for its reward, causing burnout. At worst, everyone will ignore it, causing it to waste space in the roulette menu. Neither are desirable outcomes. Remove these dungeons from this list, and add them to another roulette slot. Random Roulette or High Level roulette seem like good options.
Ideally it would be converted to a solo dungeon, all things considered. The newbie experience is completely ruined as it is now, and the high level player experience is beyond ruined. Nobody enjoys running this. So any work done to it is an improvement.
