Anyway, I'd love it if one of the ships in La Noscea left port and went on an hour trip around the entire outside of the island. It'd be great to see it going past places like Western La Noscea and Seal Rock in the background too. Details like this would make a huge difference.

reminds me of boat transportation in other games, and I think that'd be a wonderful idea. Too bad they don't have any type of "moving platform" mechanic in this game at all aside from elevators and maybe the leviathan fight ...

For exactly the reason that stuff like elevators and the Whorleater exist, SE COULD implement something like a tour boat if they wanted to. It pretty much comes down to whether they feel that it would be well-received by the players.

It's certainly a decent possibility that we'll see something like this eventually. Eorzea is a very pretty place, and SE DOES like to show it off.

In 1.00 you made your over land voyage to and from Lominsa, via a boat ride. It was a 5 minute run or so and you went up on deck and could watch the shore fade away and approach in the distance. There was a below deck area and I seem to remember there being a vendor of some sort down there. It was one of the very first things I did screen shots of in FF14.
