Garden furniture from last year summer event is not in the cash shop.
To be fair, last I looked, there were no furnishings in the cash shop. And they will never add anything that can be flipped for gil (EB bands aside); they'd have to create a separate U/U version (see also the Santa outfit).
By the Twelve, no D:
And even then, it can be circumvented with furniture. Put furniture piece in FC chest, invite someone (or their alt) into your FC, have a chat agreement that the only thing they will take is said furniture (to show as proof to GMs should theft of other items occur) in return for X amount of money. Buyer leaves FC (and in case of an alt joins the buyer's main's FC to hand the furniture item over). Obnoxiously complicated, maybe, but still circumventable.
...Which you do get.
Or do you mean new FFXIII events? That's highly unlikely to happen ^^;
The last thing you want to do is speak for new players. You're not a new player. You can't really make these "opinions" that you've been hammering down in this thread.
As or the newer events, we will get them. Just gotta be patient.

I'd rather it stay exclusive, honestly. But if they really wanted to hand it out to everyone, I hope they just use the cash shop instead of trying to turn it into a sorta seasonal recurrence.
Or.. They slap it on a vendor and maybe have a new yearly "Reference to a previous Final fantasy" game event with that vendor at them (Maybe outfits of other important characters or other outfits that the MCs wear, as the Veteren Rewards have already started handing out stuff like the Wild Rose set). I wouldn't mind the Gold Saucer option to be honest, but I'd prefer a new event with new and old items available so that new and old players can get some enjoyment and neat sets.
I'm a giant dragon and heretic sympathizer and I love character customization

Out of curiosity, do we have any furniture marked that way?
Even if they are, can't you work around it by placing said furniture in your house, then have someone else pick it up? (Unless it's also marked with the "once placed, it's destroyed if you pick it up" annoyance, of course.)
