yeah, it's called reality, people miss out. The difference is children whine when they miss out on something and can't get their way.
Adults accept that there are consequences with time moving forward and act accordingly.
Do I really lament about the dalamud horn? Nope, it's just one of many cool looking head pieces in the game, I can find another. It simply serves as an example that things are not available indefinitely. I am not going to demand, like some infantile spoiled brat, that 1.0 players give up their unique 1.0 loot to sate some obsessive impulse to have everything in the game.
Check my post history, I did not even bother posting when the event came back, because I did not care. What I do care about is when SE decides to not bring the event back and people whine and complain about it. The FFXIV team is much smaller than other MMO's. I would rather them work on new events instead of revisiting old ones.
They are just pixels, get over it.

I can not up-vote this post enough! This game has a community so obsessed with "YOU WERE NOT THERE YOU MISSED IT LOOK HOW EXCLUSIVE I AM" and you really need to get over it come on kids. Not even amounting to sharing your toys since you do not get them taken away from you, just shared for others to enjoy.
What is the point of exclusivity other than to make people feel bad or make newbies feel like they will never amount to anything.
If they put it in the cash shop it is just a way of retroactively paying your sub for that month to get the items. If anything, SE will get the same amount of money or more. Logging on at a specific point in time does not make you special, exclusive, or more deserving.
Says the person who just wrote a short essay about it.
Secondly, you say "it's called reality". You do realize, this is a video game, right? As in...you know...not reality? >o>()
This isn't some one-of-a-kind, handcrafted, artisan masterpiece, it's coding. While the actual creating the 3D model is time consuming, once it is made, it's pretty easy to plop it into the game whenever, where ever. They probably didn't circulate your horn into 2.x because it would mess with SMN's horned aesthetic and it's a very niche item.
"I didn't do the quest and sneaked behind lv80 enemies who can one-hit you if you did a wrong step, but I want the reward regardless" is how you sound.
Not really
They didn't bring it back as a reward because it was a part of a one-time storyline (the 7th umbral era story) only doable during 1.x and promoted as this since the beginning of that storyline.

You can still get the horn in 2.0 if you have the achievement, it's in circulation and any 1.0 toons who unlocked it can still use it. So, that whole aesthetic argument really holds no weight.Says the person who just wrote a short essay about it.Secondly, you say "it's called reality". You do realize, this is a video game, right? My longer post about raiding was about creating dialogue between raiders and non raiders, sorry if you felt like that was my personal statement of "to hell with everyone else, give me mah pixels." It was about a variety of motivations and challenges that face raiders. Pretty sure I said the reason I raid is for the sense of challenge and story, you should go back and read the post more carefully. If you're going to try and cross reference another post to help prove your point in this thread, at least bother to carefully read the source you're citing so you don't look like a presumptuous buffoon.
Don't you think it's presumptuous of you to assume it's just simple coding fix to put the item in the cash shop or to reintroduce the event?
Lastly, just because this is a fantasy world does not mean it's exempt from real life effects, such as time. Everything has a shelf life, even this game being on live servers has a shelf life. I am sorry if that concept escapes you.

Considering this is an mmo which constantly gets newer subscribers SE can't ever pull that event down to accommodate EVERYONE. that'd be like bringing 1.0 back for the "main scenario that all subscribers got to see" during that time. To have all subscribers always have a chance at all events seems like an unwinnable battle.
Let me rephrase then, it's not in circulation to the mass-public, must the few who played during 1.x. And it's still a niche item. >w>

Except, they've already been putting things that have "passed their shelf life" into the cash shop. About 90% of the things in the cash shop have passed their shelf life, yet SE brought them back anyway. Is it really "presumptuous" to assume they'll do something they've already been doing?Don't you think it's presumptuous of you to assume it's just simple coding to plot the item in the cash shop or to reintroduce the event?

I don't know, you were the one that dragged that post into this thread 1st to make some asinine point, t'was not me.Let me rephrase then, it's not in circulation to the mass-public, must the few who played during 1.x. And it's still a niche item. >w>

As your "90%" stat indicates, they have left stuff out of the cash shop. So, there is a precedent for both content being retired or brought back. It's up to SE's discretion and they made their decision that this year the event was not coming back. Deal with it.
