As someone who already has already done the event and got the items and hairstyles, I say let people have a chance to get them, whether that means bringing the event back and/or putting them on the Mogstation. This whole exclusivity thing is silly, you silly-willies. XD
(The Lightning hair is ugly, though, just to warn you all. So, so ugly.)
It's beautiful on Light herself but ingame, it clips like mad and dangles funny...its like...mega hairspray floating sorta ...I don't even know how to describe it >.<
Personally I don't think it should be made unexclusive, like being put in the cash shop or GS, because as was already said, with the number of 1.x exclusives that I highly doubt SE would be willing to make available to the rest of us at this point (and it would be unfair to those players if they did), taking away what exclusives 2.x players were able to earn would only allow a smaller percentage of players to have exclusive rights to exclusivity while making SE seem very one-sided towards those players and alienating the rest of the player base. I doubt that would feel very good, for any non-legacy player regardless if they're new or not.
I'd rather see new events, and chances at new exclusive items but I wouldn't mind if the lightning event came back either if the devs saw fit to do that.
I wish they'd add these to the cash shop and work on some new events involving characters from other Final Fantasy titles. Right now we have the outfits of Lightning, Snow, Setzer, Cloud, and Firion. Would be nice to see some other characters represented!
If you think Lighting's hair isugly then you should look at Snow's. I don't think it should even be considered a haircut since it's covered up by that ugly bandanaAs someone who already has already done the event and got the items and hairstyles, I say let people have a chance to get them, whether that means bringing the event back and/or putting them on the Mogstation. white raven fight with nael, the meteor horn, a bunch of other items, the goubbue mount, the legacy chocobo, hamlet defense, gathering mini games. Yes, there was a lot of 1.0 content cut from 2.0
If you want a similar event, then ask for a new event with similar items just like the 1.0/2.0 comparison.

99.99% of the content in the game is available to everyone who plays. There is a TINY MINORITY of special items set aside just for people who supported the game at a particular time. Is that really such an injustice?
the lightning FATEs happened atleast once every half hour up to twice every half hour, the gear itself is special lvl 13 gear(this gear has stats that match the lvl15(ilvl17 Foestriker & Acolyte) gear from the first 3 dungeons)and weapons. if they do redo this event in any shape or form or make it into a mockup event in the Golden Saucer I would really like to see weapons added for ROG/NIN, DRK, MCH, ASTMy memory is a bit foggy regarding the event, but was it not simply a series of FATES in progressively higher level zones, which spawned every hour or so? No need to go DO aforementioned FATEs if you did not want to. Although I have no idea why anyone would complain about a novel FATE in an area.
And the resulting gear had better stats than even some HQ level gear in that level range.
as far as I know the FATEs themselves did not replace other FATEs but a glitch did happen during one of the runs of the event where some FATEs took a lot longer than normal to spawn and it was figured that the 3 unique FATEs(the first FATE was tied with a normal FATE, and non unique) were the cause, this was fixed pretty fast.

Nay! not just an injustice, perhaps one of the greatest grievances ever in the annals of history! Everyone has to have everything all the time! This is the modern culture of MMO's =/

What purpose is there to stop people from supporting the game at any point in time by allowing them to buy those items in the mog station? Not everyone insists that old items need to be brought back for free.
"I supported the game a year ago. I deserve the rewards."
"I would like to support the game as well and get the appropriate rewards! Put in in Mog Station and I'll buy it."
"You don't deserve the rewards cause you didn't support the game."
"But I'm willing to! Please let me."
"You can't cause reasons."
That logic doesn't make any sense. It seems similar to those people who brag about liking a certain band before it got popular, thinking they are True Fans and deserve special attention. When in fact newer fans just had a hard time supporting something they had never heard of.
Veteran rewards are a much better way to encourage sticking around without excluding anyone.
