I can not up-vote this post enough! This game has a community so obsessed with "YOU WERE NOT THERE YOU MISSED IT LOOK HOW EXCLUSIVE I AM" and you really need to get over it come on kids. Not even amounting to sharing your toys since you do not get them taken away from you, just shared for others to enjoy.
What is the point of exclusivity other than to make people feel bad or make newbies feel like they will never amount to anything.
If they put it in the cash shop it is just a way of retroactively paying your sub for that month to get the items. If anything, SE will get the same amount of money or more. Logging on at a specific point in time does not make you special, exclusive, or more deserving.

You can't have everything.

@Titor
And I'm sure there's more people wanting everything handed to them; be it from past events or from content currently in the game. Currently the only exclusive content in the game is the FFXIII glamours, FFXI and DQX minions (bardings from past events as well, but some of those are on the Market Board). I could go a step further and include EX Primal clears/horses and Binding Coil clears/gear.
If SE were to bring back the FFXIII event, though, then they should throw in a new event (unrelated to FFXIII) with it. The reason for this is because the XIII event offers NOTHING to players who already did it. Including a new event with it gives everyone something to do.

My argument was mostly aiming at "The amount of exclusivity that people want in this game is sickening," which is silly. The only time people ever say "exclusive only!" is whenever this kind of thread or Legacy threads pop up. Any other time it's something else OR "can we have this?" "I want this." "SE plz or riot."
I even followed up with a "should they return the event, then they should..." so I'm not saying no to the return of the event, just that they shouldn't return something everyone who has been playing since 2013-early 2014 without something else they could do.
My argument said nothing of the Legacy Tattoo, I made notions of making exclusive content for non-legacy players however. I'm saying that doing the event to get whatever items requires at most logging in, being the level requirement, and running around for 20 minutes. If anything take my comment directed towards you it'd be something along the lines of "What if you had to make the character in the 3.x cycle in order for them be an Au Ra", is that fine?
It could easily be argued that Coil should be removed because we're past that in the grand scheme of the story and it no longer remains relevant towards current raid groups, I mean shoot, how often do you see people group up to farm the first set of Coil raids? Like it or not, these things are both are content and the way the player values them might vary (For all we know there's somewhere out there that's a new player desperate to look like Lightning or Snow..), and there's nothing suggesting that they couldn't ever remove a raid either.
It's a silly statement when you look at it strictly within a vacuum, but shoot anytime these sorts of threads appear up the main argument against it is "No, those people were there, they deserve it for existing, too bad, get over it".. And that opinion seems really well accepted, very few people share contrary opinions and a majority of people agree with that or seem uninterested. I mean, if you go into a thread about say.. Drawing of your characters or job dicussions, of course exclusivity wouldn't be brought up in a thread like that, none of it has to deal with exclusiveness in the first place. Saying "The amount of exclusivity people want in this game is sickening" within the context of people getting so defensive over the idea of bringing back an old event or having a way for them to get the items in game is completely relevant.
Reasonable. Heck, I don't disagree with that idea at all even, but most people aren't even willing to suggest something close to that, just a whole "Give me a new event, no old items for you" deal.
--Edit: Thinking about it a bit more, I'd argue a much more broader problem (and it encompasses the "exclusivity" issue) is dealing with this whole "I'm currently satisfied and make no attempt to see why you're not happy with the current status quo, therefore you and your argument are dumb. /thread" which even dips into you and I's common ground, racial additions and more "cute" races being added.
Well of course you're fine with it, you're pleased with the options given to you, and I don't think girl Roegadyn, boy Miqo'te, or Au Ra appeal to you enough to change your main to it. You can't place your argument on "Yeah I'm fine because I'm sated with everything already" because you likely are already pleased therefore you probably don't see any reason wrong with it. I'm sure there are plenty of 1.0 players who went to girl Roegadyn and boy Miqo'te when they could.
Besides, go figure that fantasia was added in 2.0.. You know with the introduction of girl Roegadyn and boy Miqo'te were also introduced.

The example is quite different than anything being mentioned in this thread. The subject in hand is about players who haven't been supporting FF as long not being able to retroactively get glamour and glamour related stuff. You're proposing an example that hinders players who have been supporting FF for a long time.
Not necessarily true. I could have gotten the game, during my month playable gotten to the level required for the Lightning event, did it and got the items, then never touched the game again until just recently or I could also be a new player, who just started after the last Lightning event, been playing since then and thus given SE much more support comparatively and still wouldn't be able to get the items in question. A person who played the game for one month in 2.x cycle then didn't play again til just recently(and assuming they own heavenward) could have supported the game just as much as a new player who started right when 3.0 started, payed for 3 months along with Heavensward and the base game. Within the context of this suggestion only the latter (Who would have shown more "support" for the game) would be able to have an Au Ra, not the prior player.

Ow it's this topic again...
Is it the 600th or 700th time now?

I want this with all my heart. I'm also okay with letting the people who have it have it. Exclusivity isn't a bad thing, and people try to blow it out of proportion with hilariously bloated examples. "Imagine Coil of Bahamut" :^)
