Please consider dropping PS3 sooner rather than later.

I'd say drop it when FFXV comes out. Why?

1. People like me have been holding out on a PS4 until there is a game they really REALLY want it for. For me, that is currently two games: The Tomorrow Children (an old friend is on the dev team for that and I promised) and FXV
2. If the marketing team at SE has any lick of sense, they'll offer XV bundled with a PS4, much like they did with the PS2 and X
3. Along with XV, they can bring back a PS3 to PS4 upgrade campaign to encourage people to switch once they've purchased their new console for XV

They will most likely shut down PS3 when Sony does in 2017. However we already know that Heavensward or at least all of 3.X will be on PS3. Which should cover all of Heavensward story. 4.0 and above will most likely be PS4 and PC only.

It wont be shut down in 2017 though JP support older consoles much longer then NA just look at PS2 and how long it was supported in FFXI

They said that egi glamour was a plan they had, but hadn't even started on it yet. I don't really think that's fair to doubt them because of that.

They should seriously drop it by 4.0. They can't really expand any old areas due to technical limits of the PS3, so the longer they support PS3, the more areas they'll need to make into separate instances, which will make the game feel less and less populated.

They also said when Heavensward came out that they couldn't how to add more pets and just add trance with the thought of add glamour so people would stop complaining about carby.
