It was more spacious, had better music IMO, mounts were allowed there, and it changed over time.

I agree 100%.. It really was a much better area to chill at for our high levels. :/
I'm sure Idyllshire will change every other major patch. But yeah I'm not liking that it's instanced since those multiple idyllshire quests were so annoying
It has to be instanced though. Revenant Toll could only be developed so much to a point where any more models and you'd start to tax low-end systems like the ps3. By instancing Idyllshire, not only do you make it load-heavy when a lot of people are there buy if they choose to expand off of it they aren't restricted as much in size. Afterall, Ul'dah is instanced for a reason and not just a part of Thanalan.
It also sucks that Hinterlands is the only zone that does not have a sanctuary...
I dislike them both, I wish they'd just add the vendors to Ishgard. The daytime music in Idyllshire drives me insane, not to mention the people who keep spamming loud abilities. >_< Ishgard also has my favourite OST from this expansion so far.
no incentive to hang out in ishgard after the story ends kind of sucks. idyllshire is a dump.
I'm tired of these encampments. The Toll was no different than Idyllshare for me, except that Idyllshare is worse because it's all broken and has the unbearably ugly goblin camps. I wonder if we will ever get a REAL city or HQ where we can spend tomes and chill that doesn't look like forgotten ruins or a stone refuge in a radioactive area.
Now now, there is no need to talk like that about Idyllshire. After all Revenant's toll was even worse when it started.
