Real-life FFXIV yukatas - please happen!

I went to Japan back in August on the 22nd to the 29th. In the cities of Matsuyama, Kyoto, and Osaka, a lot of people wore yukatas out in the shopping districts. Especially in Kyoto. And yes, I did see men wear yukatas as well. A lot of them are well designed. My girlfriend lives in Japan, so that's why I was there. I think that a lot of the artistic style of them was great. I wanted a yukata to have a design with flames such as the one featured last year in our Moonfire Faire, minus the bomb.

I think it would be AWESOME if Square-Enix could partner up with a clothing company and make actual yukatas based on the ones we have in the game, plus other things (primals, moogles, Dalamud, the Scions, etc.). I had imagined some yukatas with the designs of the primals from the games. Yukatas aren't commonly worn here in the US; I've had someone stop me at the mall asking me why I was wearing a bathrobe. I had to say that I went to Japan and my girlfriend gave it to me (for my birthday), and I told him how comfortable it was wearing one (he felt the cotton material, he liked my design, and saw how the sleeves had actual pockets; he gave me 2 thumbs up saying he wanted one afterwards).

Trying to make yukatas a fashion statement in real life like the US is hard, but I think it would be awesome if Square-Enix could work with a clothing company to make and sell Final Fantasy XIV themed yukatas. Oh, and the one my girlfriend got me is a dark navy blue with lighter blue images of koi fish, waves, and bubbles. I also got one back in August at an anime convent that is white with blue dragons on it.

This sorta falls into when The World Ends with You was released...so many marketing options for real life, and I saw....almost none of them.

Also yeah I'd wear FF yukata. I have a few already I've picked up at end-of-the-month temple sales over in Kyoto, some can be very pretty (even while second hand). And they are sooo comfy.

Come on, Squeenix open a clothing line already

I forgot to mention that FFXIV was heavily advertised in Osaka. I went to the big electronics store and they had banners for FFXIV: Heavensward on every floor. EVERY floor, out of 6 or so (I can't remember how many floors it had, but it was greater than 5). Plus Heavensward (and ironically the latest Pokémon movie) was advertised on the trains with posters. My girlfriend said, "Adam, is that the game you play?" I told her, "yep!"

That's not fair, I would've loved to see that.. I was in Japan back in 2011 and I can't remember anything big being advertised (may have missed it though).
I do remember copious amounts of AKB48 though. Everywhere.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.

Oh, Japan was fun. I liked all the styles of clothing. I just saw a lot of people in their work attire and school attire during the afternoons. The Japanese people are hard workers. That's what I like about them. There was also a ton of different clothing styles I saw people wear. Way better from what I've seen in the US, that's for sure. The yukatas there were nice. I did see one that was similar to the Lady's Yukata from last year's Moonfire event. It did have butterflies on it along with flowers. I saw a young lady wear it in Kyoto. I liked it. My girlfriend has one with cherry blossoms on it.
