Slight change to WHM offensive rotation

I could be the only one having a slight issue with this but...

The GCD doesn't seem to be in "sync" with the rotation WHM has for their DPS rotation

To be as specific as possible, and hopefully I'm not doing my rotation wrong

    But as of level 54...

Regen, Cleric, Aero II, Aero, "Wait for GCD", Stone III a few times, Fluid Aura, and Stone III till reapply dots and repeat or monster dies

Does it change at 60? Is Aero even worth applying?

The damage I don't mind, but waiting for the GCD makes the rotation feel... off

Would you think taking Aero off the GCD be a positive change to have a smoother rotation?

Nope, nothing changes really. Mainly because of the simple damage kit white mage (or healers in general) have: Apply DoTs, use filler spells.

On another note: I wouldn't use Aero unless you can weave a fluid aura with it inbetween. Stone III has 10 more potency for the same GCD value.

You should only use Aero in conjunction with an oGCD ability or when moving. Otherwise it's a DPS loss (Aero's full potency is less than Stone 3)

Isn't Aero 2 also weaker than Stone 3? I only really use Aero 3 and Stone 3 with Aero 1 for whenever I need to move.

Aero's really MP efficient compared to Stone III, worth the 10 potency loss usually unless you're in content where MP is just not going to become an issue in any way. Just make sure you don't clip it in any way due to its naturally close potency to Stone III; unlike most DoTs other classes have, clipping is a big no no if you can help it.

    Aero2, Aero3, Stone3, Stone3, Aero2, Stone3, Stone3, Stone3, then repeat starting back at Aero2, Aero3.
When Assize is not on CD, you may replace any Stone3 with Aero immediately followed by Assize.
Depending on your spell speed, you may be able to fit in Aero, Assize, Fluid Aura, granted you're also quite close to your target.

Aero II is 250 Potency over 12 seconds. It used to be 210, but was buffed to 250 with Heavensward.

So yes, definitely use Aero II.

I might be a little silly when I do dps on WHM, on a single target I tend to start with Aero 3, then before that animation even finishes I toss Aero, then Aero2 if no one is in need of healing. Then just Stone3 x which ever amounts until I have to drop Cleric's Stance again. When next chance comes, depending on party, I start again with Aero 3 rinse and repeat. I do this a lot in expert roulette. :3

When there's more mobs than 3, I tend to buff tank with divine seal regen, medica II, possibly Asylum on top of it, swap to Cleric's stance and Aero 3, then swiftcast Holy, then Assize right after, Shroud of Saints, Holy until I have to heal or mobs aren't dying fast enough to conserve MP for heals. The Stun resist builds up quick so if dps aren't mowing down the mobs with aoes I just go full healing mode after. Better safe than sorry. D:

As have been said before in this thread, there is no use to ever cast aero if you are not moving or need to weave oGCD abilities. You would be better to just cast aero 3, aero 2 and then stone III spam if no one needs healing.

My personal rotation for bosses is as follows.

Regen MT > Asylum MT > Cleric Stance > Aero III > Aero II > Aero > Assize > PoM > Stone III spam > Aero III > Aero II > Aero > Fluid Aura

I can usually get this all off before the tank needs healing. I like to weave in Assize and Fluid Aura after each Aero while I'm stuck in GCD. I start with Assize because it has the better potency and the longer cooldown. I don't parse so I have no idea how good the rotation is, but I find it goes together really smoothly... except Aero II's duration is pretty weird.
