    PVP Gear

Hey, so I'm new to PVP, and love it! (DRG) however, I get destroyed frequently by players who have PVP gear, and I'm starting to see how important morale is.

My question is this, how can I get PVP gear? I'm useless in wolves den since I don't have PVP gear and typically only PVP geared players play there. I'm level 57, so I generally rely on Sieze/Slaughter since that's what gives the most wolf marks. I'm getting about 300 per match (Maelstrom loses frequently). I only play from about 10pm - 3am Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat, and all day on Thurs, Fri, Sun. I generally queue up for wolves 30, 40, and slaughter/seize. It takes roughly 45 minutes an hour to find a match, the matches last 20minutes, and then I'm back to waiting. At this rate, I earn roughly 330 marks every 1:20, and being that I don't have millions of hours to play, it's looking like I'll get PVP gear after several months...by then, I may lose interest. Being beat that much for 2-3 months is only going to make me want to quite PVP.

Does seal rock give THAT MUCH more? Also, I have 14,857 wolf marks right now and could buy lower level gear, would it be a waste?

Seal rock will be far better in terms of queues due to tomes farming. It seems many people prefer seals rock more than slaughter/secure too.

PvP gears are only useful in wolves den so farming them outside the arena won't be an issue for you. I normally get 20k+ marks per week without running any matches in wolves den thanks to my dead server/data centre which are only concerned with tomes farming.

Try joining a linkshell for PvP where people might make pre-mades and other stuff for PvP.

PVP gear is only useful in Den? It should help in any PVP match, right?

I'm not looking for good PVE gear, I can get that with ESO's. Also, how many matches are you playing a week and how do they split up? Mostly seal rock? I'm getting 3-4 front lines matches a day, that's maybe 2,220 marks (if I win all matches and include my daily). That's roughly a max of 15k a week, IF I win every match, and Maelstrom doesn't win THAT many lol

I usually do 30 to 40 matches a week about 90% of them are seal rock. Flames in my data centre wins most of its matches about 50% or more of my matches are 1st place.

Yes, morale is only useful in wolves den and PvP materia doesn't work in front lines too.

Well then...PVP gear is more or less visual...I love wolves den but I'm playing in 30-40 matches, I don't have a group to play with. I thought the ilvl cap on front lines was a starting point (like everyone is ilvl 80 +your morale stat)...

Whelp, looks like I'll be buying Snakeliege lol for appearance.

Also, the materia doesn't work in frontlines? That's kind of bogus! There should be a way to improve your stats in frontlines.

Hi Grafeit. The way Morale is helpful is because the ilevel is 180 on Rank 50 gear. The Morale on this is 30 so it takes our ilevel up to 210 for Wolves Den. This is probably because it matches the other top gear on the game at the moment.

To reduce waiting times on Frontlines only have the main language for your data center selected. If you choose all of them you may end up being locked in queue which could potentially take hours to fill. You should hit level 60 as soon as possible, because the waiting times for Seal Rock (unlocked at level 60) are far less because people are only doing Secure and Slaughter as part of their daily roulette.

Also, the PVP abilities is a great help to the stats. Of course you have to have lots of fights to unlock the AP's but it is worth it. The vitality is pretty much essential.

See, I was told the 8 vitality is useless because it's less than 1% of my HP, isn't the conversion something like 20HP per point? I've been leveling up skills!

I like Wolves Den, but it's more fun with friends, no one communicates in PUGs.

Yes in retrospect to the other skills you can put your points into, an extra 100 hp (at lvl 60) for 12 points isn't really worth it. Put your points into your main PvP damage skills first (the potency effects first, then the cooldown, then the last one IF it's useful), then put it into your defensive skills (Recoup , purify, fetter), then the remaining in STR/main stat. Also, try to spec out CRIT+DET, or even skill speed, as ACCURACY in PvP is a dead stat.

PvP gear doesn't usually give you an upper hand in frontlines (morale doesn't work there iirc), but if you see someone wearing the ilvl 180 PvP gear, it usually means they're a PvP vet and most likely know how to play PvP decently.

Morale does work, but the gain in i150 ilevelsync is only a slight total stat benefit (36 points total in secondary stats) over other i180 pieces due to how morale and ilevelsync work together and all i190 pieces hit the i150 secondary stat caps. Their true strength is in having no left side pieces with "dead" stats such as Accuracy and Parry. Tanks get the most benefit from this as they gain 128 to 332 points in non-dead secondary stats over using i190+ left side pieces while DpS can gain up to 224 points.
