This is possible on PS4, and is also something I use to monitor cooldowns. I have BoTD/LS/B4B/BL/IR on my main hotbar so I can see them anyway, but I use it for Jump, PS, DFD, Second Wind, foresight, leg sweep, bloodbath and potion. Also, though I don't know if this is possible on PS4 - I suggest adding one or two vertical hotbars next to your crossbar and copying the cooldowns you put on the extended crossbar on there as well, so that you can easily track your cooldowns without holding both triggers. I keep BotD, BL, BFB, LS, IR and PS on there so they're always in front of my eyes.
