How to Dragoon per Second: A DPS Paradigm

The issue is that I know that my static won't be clearing M2S, much less M3S any time soon. That means the savage boots, arms, and head, etc will be out of my reach until at least 3.35. And because of that I'm not even sure if I should try to get Anima or the Horde spear because it screws over everything else without those savage drops. I have a pentamelded 220 with ~50 acc right now and with Lore Spear I'm sitting at stats that are pretty comfortable.

Edit: I know I can wait for the anima, but not for the Horde spear. The skillspeed loss is way to much. Can't seem to get it working no matter what I try, given my planned progression path. Should I just... deal with the 530 skillspeed or am I just better off sticking with my Lore Spear?

530 skillspeed isn't a biggie. Look at "Dervys" personal set. It's 558 Skillspeed. You either have to deal with it, look for additional i230 replacements (maybe there's othe i230 > i240), or invest in Skillspeed Materia.

Okay, found something that works. Had to swap out a lot of materia melds to accuracy though but I'm pleased with this set. It's not A8S worthy but it should be enough for A7 and A6 progression.

Okay, found something that works. Had to swap out a lot of materia melds to accuracy though but I'm pleased with this set. It's not A8S worthy but it should be enough for A7 and A6 progression.

a7s accuracy is 688. So unless your OT is doing the melee cage as well, you'll miss on the Alarum.

Alright, thanks for the correction. Time to start hoarding T5 Acc materia... But at least I have something decent to work with now.

This is probably the most advanced and most accurate layout of Dragoon rotations I have ever seen. I just ask myself. Where did he get all the time to compile such a detailed analysis. This had to take months to finish excluding time in game. But from an almost-Dragoon player, I salute you Dervy for all this.

Yeah some are still wiping a lot so getting the body on Ozma is not an easy task. Glad I got mine on my second clear (got lucky, we were 3 DRG's in my team). GL to you !

Dervy has been working on the OP since before Heavensward, and updates are made as new ideas/research come through from the playerbase. If you want to see the process of how ideas on playing DRG (and DPS in general!) have evolved, you could hardly do better than to read through Rotation Reborn, the first version of this thread, and this entire thread. Though, that's a couple years' worth of of epic thread; you probably wouldn't want to do this in one night unless you skim.
