Wow thanks, didn't know Dervy has such thing in his channel. XD
Ah, I see~
wtb 230 spear pls. My group is still stuck in A6S progression. Slow start coupled with 2 days per week;;;
I'm up to 1380 with my Seph, though. D: Maybe next week.
Speaking of that, do you not get a delay on BotD > B4B? The few times I've screwed up and weaved it somehow, it felt like it delayed the GCD. Granted could have just been my garbage internet.

Tell me about it. Spent the first 3-4 weeks replacing healers ; ;
I've heard both sides of the holding/not holding buffs for A5S. There are a lot of variables encounter to encounter ofc but I did seem to notice higher dps when I held buffs vs saving them. I don't know though, we've only cleared it a couple times now so still working the magic I guess. Maybe once I smooth out mistakes the difference between holding them or not will be more apparent.
Considering, that's 1430 DPS with a i220 weapon (still don't have a i230), I'd say that method is near perfect for maximising DPS on that fight.

Holding buffs is only worth it if you're looking to, and are able do the Boost Skip. In which case, I'd intensively study NoBullys strat.

Nope, which is strange.

I've been just using everything on cooldown in A5S and then /crying/ a lot when I accidentally press Blood for Blood just before the second boost - an issue that I just seem to be incapable of stopping. I'm a solid +60 over the other DRGs on my server, so I'm content with it, but I also do have NIN+MCH buffing me up... though the NIN is new and only put up 3 Trick Attacks in a 7:28 fight last week, so I dunno. I do a full opener at the start (sans potion, though I might start using it because of Dervy's video) and use everything on cooldown from then on.
My group drops machinist LB on the adds, so I never have to do that really annoying nonsense of killing a gawker, though. I just get to b4b>dfd>gsk the pigs before they die. C:
I get to do that on Swindler, too. Life is great.
ALSO. Yes, that is definitely amazing - I assumed you had the 230 because of how high that dps was! xD
I mean, I'm certainly not able to prove you wrong or anything lol. They both make sense in their own ways, but whether it's better or not I don't like the idea of holding buffs as it throws off all the usual timings and that fks me up. All I notice is that my dps seems to be higher after a few mins in when I do hold them, but its prolly just me being scrubtastic
Yeah :P Using BFB just before the second boost is something that has caught me a few times as well. Worst possible place to use BFB imo.
Ive never thought about MCH LB2... Does it really hit the other Gawker and Piggies? That's rather interesting...
As for Swindler adds, I prefer holding the GK in the opener and stack up 30s. This way, I can do DFD + GK + x2/3 RoT, SSD back to Swindler on the opposite side and still not lose BOTD. Vortexer is the one fight where I lose a lot of DPS. Maybe I'll just get greedy on this weeks kill and not stack with Compressed Water... (We do 5-stack, just to play it safe)
My group is still on Swindler. D: I'll have to see Vortexer when I get there. We Mage LB the adds in Swindler, since it's safer and such, and we're all about the safety strats, so I just have time for 1 gsk + dfd before the LB hits. I can probably drop a Ring of Thorns there, but I'd rather just not risk it. On our good pulls (where we get to hop 1-2-3 with no waiting), I'm sitting at 1750+ according to ACT when we wipe to the snipers.Yeah :P Using BFB just before the second boost is something that has caught me a few times as well. Worst possible place to use BFB imo.

And yeah, we hold the boss in the Southeast, MCH sets up at the Southwest and just does dps on the boss until Oogle. Dodge that, MCH LB3 - everything dies. With LB2, I think the Gawkers live with a sliver of health that goes away the next gsk I hit. The far one gets picked off by the MCH in those cases. He targets the boss with the LB, and stands behind the far Gawker, afaik, WHM stacking in on the MT to drag all the pigs to the slaughter.
And the worst part about screwing up that B4B before second Boost is that it then comes back TOO SOON in the following tiny phase, so it doesn't catch the DFD+gsk on the pigs, and I have myself trained too well so I forget to hold it and just tap it and get sad.
Also, do you hold your DFD in the opener? I tend to not use it there and save it for the first snake. Next one comes up sometime later, and the one after that I hold for pigs. I never thought about the whole Spineshatter thing for first Prey, though... and I always have it ready. I feel really dumb lol. I'll hit CT>4th on the boss and then run after him and hit PS+Leg on the run, Jump+SSD (with gcd spins) once I'm behind him. S M R T.
Nah I blow it in the opener.
Though, I'm thinking of switching Jump and DFD in the opener... This should perfectly align DFD for the next pray after Boost and your DFD can be freed up to use on cooldown, rather than holding your 2nd application until after boost, like what I do... I'll play around with it tomorrow maybe
