How to Dragoon per Second: A DPS Paradigm

Hello, I just created an account. The guide has really helped me out with learning the ins and outs of Dragoon. I wish the other classes had something like this.

But anyway I have a quick question. I'm a pretty poor player (I only have around 2-3 mil on me right now) but I was wondering if I could get some advice for gearing up. I'm hesitant to add materia on since I don't have any lvl 60 crafters and that they're relatively expensive. As it stands I know for certain I am outputting waaay too little DPS for my iLvl.
