You know, I am fairly certain I've gone through a new dungeon and obtained gear I cannot use until I grind out the levels for the Job. Fairly certain I could use Law/Esoterics to buy Summoner gear I cannot use, as well, until I grind Summoner to 60. I have to grind Summoner to 60 before I can use that awesome AF2.

PvP is no different. You have to grind to Rank 50 before you can use the new gear in the same way you'd have to grind a Job to 60 before you can use its new gear. Since PvPs release, they've done plenty of things to ease up this grind, too; Out right increasing the rewards from Wolves' Den, adding Frontlines with far better rewards, adding PvP EXP to the Challenge Log, adding the PvP Roulette, removing the Rank requirement on old gear.

That last one is a pretty big one... To compare to PvE, that's like having them take all the Lv50 cap equipment and reducing it down to Lv1 gear so newbs can run around in AF and Relic weapons. That simply doesn't happen, but it happened with the PvP equipment, granted PvP equipment might as well not have stats on it (but I'd argue the same is true for any of the gear in this game, given how pathetic itemization is here...) since it's really only there for glamours at this point, but that just makes the complaints even more pathetic. If Morale still worked like it did in 2.1 and Frontlines actually made use of the stat, perhaps there would be an argument here, but that isn't the case. PvP gear has absolutely no standing in ones PvP ability, it's literally just a trophy. Trophies tend to loose their value when everyone gets one for participation.

What they really need to do is overhaul the PvP Rank system entirely. It shouldn't be something you grind out; It should be something you work on, constantly. It should be based off your wins/kills/deaths/etc. and it should be possible to go down a rank. I'll be the first to admit that PvP gear as a trophy doesn't really work, considering all you need to do is grind it out. It's far too much like PvE gear in that regard. If I'm wearing the current PvP set, that should say that I have, and have maintained, a fairly high rank by being good at PvP. It should not say that I grinding my way to Rank 50 in a few weeks, like it currently does. If I don't PvP, my Rank should decrease. If I have a massive losing streak, my Rank should decrease. Having Rank 50 should be something you easily reach by being good and have to maintain by continuing to PvP. It absolutely shouldn't be something a bunch of whining PvE players can jump into after a bit of grinding and then never touch the content again...

Just do what most of these so-called "people who earned their ranks" did... Do your weekly challenge log Wolves Den victories by que'ing D with two grousp who's average PVP rank is the same. You do win-trades like this for 10wins/10 losses (That way your other team gets their bonus too) and it gives you a nice chunk of EXP.

Most of these people who claim they 'earned' it just put in more time wintrading.

Rank 50 flames here, rerolled to adders 4 weeks ago. Now rank 40 adders grind harder.

Pvp gear literally only gives you slightly better secondary stats and that's only some gear, majority of bis pvp gear set ups include barely any of the i180 stuff

That's at least 130 hours of doing Seal Rock again, and again. Saying that's not absurd is like claiming the original drop rate on Atmas or Alexandrite were fine, they weren't. All that is with a minimal queue time for 5 minutes, it can easily reach 20-30+. It should have some grind, but not to this extent especially when SE refuses to release more than one map and doesn't work on class balance for PvP.
If you don't enjoy the class balance or single relevant map for PVP, why should you care if you attain rank 50 or not? Your complaints should be about PVP in general needing a fix, not about the "grind" being lessened.

If you don't enjoy PVP that's one thing - call for improvements to the mode, and save yourself the misery of the grind if you dislike it so much. But pretty much all of these rank complaints are rooted in the desire to obtain the PVP gear for glamour purposes without putting in nearly as much effort as your predecessors, which is ridiculous.

Ranks aren't a grind if you enjoy PVP. People should be focusing on ways to make PVP more enjoyable, not on ways for PVEers to get vanity gear.

I couldn't care less for the gear, the only thing I liked was the weapon accompanying the Batsight set, and now that's no longer restriction. The new Ninja gear (in my opinion) looks hideous, as does Batsight (too cluttered for my tastes). I still have a problem with them locking ADS behind PvP though, something originally found in PvE. 200 wins too? That's nothing more than a sorry excuse to keep you subscribed, if it was 200 matches, or 200 1st and 2nd place added together, maybe not so, but as it stands the grind long overstays its welcome, for one mount.

To be fair, if you're only after glamour, the PvP gear has had their rank restriction removed once. I'm sure the new gear will follow suit. It's just more likely going to be during 4.0 than it is in 3.0. And can you really say no to this? Give the PvPers their PvP gear and allow them to walk around boasting "Yes I like to PvP, come at me!" using that gear.
If you wanted the gear for the Morale rating in The Wolves Den, chances are you'd be working on ranking up regardless because of all the PvP points to spend on stats/abilities. As such you'd be getting the gear sooner or later regardless and you'd probably also fall into the first category of PvPers enjoying their PvP gear.

Are you bringing this out of the pvp subsection as well? You have not earned the right to wear it simply because you obtained the currency. That's like me saying I should be able to use lvl 60 scholar gear just by buying it with law eso tomes. I'm sure you wouldn't be as bothered by this if you had a rank requirement to purchase the pvp gear, since you seem fixated on the point that if you can buy it, you can use it

I don't think this is an accurate comparison at all. PvPers have done the level grind, too.

In other MMOs, I can obtain PvP gear by accruing currency, and there may be a special set locked behind a certain rank but 1) it's really not necessary to get it to be competitive and 2) you don't lose access to it if your rank drops. Personally, when I PvP in an MMO (and I typically enjoy PvP... except for this game), I'm less interested in having my gear make a huge difference and more interested in my skill making the difference in a win.

What do you mean "In other MMOs"? That's exactly how it is here... You do not need PvP gear to be competitive in PvP, PvP gear in this game is nothing more than a glamour trophy, and losing Rank was just a suggestion, because I'd rather see Ranks mean something, rather than just being a simple grind anyone can do.

Seriously, SE... Just remove Morale already, all it seems to be doing is confusing people... You do not need this gear to PvP in the slightest, the item level cap on Seal Rock is i150. This gear is i180, i210 with Morale applied, but it still gets synced down to i150 in Seal Rock. This stuff might be relevant when Wolves' Den gets its long awaited adjustment, but I'm incline to think we'll still get a i150 capped Lv60 Wolves' Den (like we secretly got i80 capped Lv50 Wolves' Den) because... Yeah... Skill should be the deciding factor, not gear.
