Search Bags?

Editable field to enter search text for bags... does such exist (I sure can't seem to find it)?

nope, although for whatever reason if you go to your profile on Lodestone, you can search your retainer's bags remotely...but not your own :P

You can also search directly from crafting log.

I can't really think of an instance where I'm looking for an item that isn't being asked for by an NPC or required for a recipe that I want to make and in both cases you can pull up the context menu on the item in question and hit search (or find item or whatever the wording is) which will search your own inventory and all of your retainers and tell you how many NQ and HQ you have, if any.

I suppose you weren't really asking for that, but I can' tthink of the situation where you need to find an item completely out of context.

Nutz, u da lall! While I was doing a major clean up of my retainers, there were several occasions I needed it... and as I was moving stuff to my inv to vendor it, many occasions I discovered multiple items (move on full bag to another and end up with 2 free slots were I moved the stuff).
