When they do give such support you can guarantee that one of the first mods will be a parser. The 'hardcore raiders' will then make using it veritably mandatory, whether you're in a raid or just a random dungeon. Don't have it installed, they will make sure to point you out and make your time in their 'divine presence' as uncomfortable as possible, if not outright /votekick you. Is there merits to add-on support? Of course there is, but don't expect every player to be upstanding members of the community about it.
And this is why their should never be add ons.
