Grinds commonly found in Korean or Japanese MMOs. I don't know if you've ever played Monster Hunter, but the MMO (Monster Hunter Frontier, haven't played it myself, but this is from what I've read on /r/MonsterHunter) can require over a dozen of one material obtained by killing the monster, this item has a drop rate of about 1% from each carve or item reward, so a 1% chance spread across 6 chances in a fight. Each fight taking 10-15 minutes if you're experienced, and one mess up can cost you a death (of which you have 3 before losing). Probably the reason the game wasn't localized. A more recent example would be ArcheAge where you can continually upgrade an item with very costly materials. If you happen to fail, you lose the item and have to start from scratch (I guess this could be compared to a failed meld, except with a far, far greater loss.

FFXIV has nothing on the "asian grind".

If you're looking for some games to play try out odyssey abyss. It's currently on steam for $2 and is reminiscent of child of light.

Killing floor 2 is also another fantastic l4d-esc shooter with great gunplay. I'm currently playing both of those and catching up on some anime until 3.1

Small note: EX Singularity Reactor isn't officially confirmed, though an extreme version of "The last boss" was mentioned in The Rising.

Yoshida said there was a hint as to the next primal there, but I dunno if an EX version necessarily counts when it'll probably be as optional as the others and there will probably be something as part of the MSQ.

Oh come on they have hinted this so much now why wouldn't it be there just for you i will edit it saying unconfirmed but highly likely xD but yeah i will edit and add primal fight in the list for Main Story.

why people waste time, effort and HUGE amount of materials in those red scrips? <,< that system is so damn terrible! =.=

I dont have ANY master book that needs grind ways <-<.
All my crafters classes are lv60. And I still make a ALOT of money!
Im about to buy me(yeah only for me!) a LARGE house for 40-45mio and leaving my current Medium one! o_O

Red scrips aren't a waste of time, like I said, done in a couple of hours. Its isn't always about money you know...oh and you talk about a waste of time and money, that would be housing. So yeah to each his own I guess lol

My theory is that the next Primal is Exodus, the Judge-Sal, and that brief cameo by Belias in the Summoner questline will finally be justified.

Why? Some of the Final Fantasy XII Espers were based on past final bosses; Chaos, Mateus, and Zeromus all speak for themselves, but Exodus was in fact based on ExDeath, Final Fantasy Vs big bad. The Rising event mentions "the next primal" perhaps being "the last boss", and we already have evidence for the Ivalice Espers with Belias and the Summoner questline, so Chaos/Mateus/Zeromus/Exodus all seem likely to me. They were all "last bosses", and if Belias is confirmed, they should all be showing up eventually anyway.

Add to that the completely forgotten plot point regarding the Students of Baldesion, the vanishing Isle of Val, and Minfilias friend (the sole survivor) Krile, all a fairly obvious reference to Final Fantasy Vs Krile Mayer Baldesion, who we hopefully get before Minfilia as a (hopefully) more capable replacement. If the Twelveswood isn't a massive reference to the Forest of Moore at some point, I'm gonna be sad... Of course given that post credits reveal of the Warrior of Darkness, or more specifically where that scene too place, I guess Zeromus could also be a good candidate, but the Gordian Helm of Fending screams ExDeath at me (and Living Liquid was an obvious reference to Vs Living Flame boss), so I'm going with that...

More likely we'll just see Thordan (Extreme), but that's such a boring thing to speculate~ I'm also not sure if it even works, wouldn't that be another Ultima Ballad style thing, rather than an (Extreme)? I'm fairly sure we always get a new Primal anyway, when we got the Ultima Ballad and Garuda/Titan/Ifrit (Extreme), we also got Good King Moggle Mog, so I'd expect Thordan and something new anyway... It's been two years since they teased me with Belias in the Summoner questline, it's about time they delivered us those Espers... Next logical set of options now that the main six have been done, too. We have to be moving toward Zodiark sooner or later, right?

Labyrinth of the Ancients got added in 2.1, SCoB came with 2.2. Albeit Labyrinth should have been in at launch of 2.0 but due to balancing issues with it (was supposably too diificult) they delayed it for 2.1 which broke up the initial gear progression. 2/0 had ilvl 70 then ilvl 90 with tomestones and Coil. Labyrinth was ilvl 80.

So new Alex will be 3.2 based off previous update content cycles. 3.3 next 24 man. 3.4 3rd Alex, 3.5 last 24 man. Then maybe onto 4.0.
