So on and so forth. Your problem is that the population has outgrown old content, regardless of what carrots on sticks get tossed in then. This is something that Square can't fix, really.

What an amazing post.

Firstly, SE cannot force players to return to old content without suffering a backlash. It is the nature of MMOs with an upgrade system to leave behind the outdated content. Carrot-on-stick incentives are bandaids to a bigger problem that goes outside SE's scope and into western player mentality. Eventually people will get tired of trying to farm those cheap incentives...and then you're back to bitching about not being able to get carried through old content.

Secondly, we must be playing a different game because I remember endless complaints about CT being shitty to run due to wiping on easy mechanics, length of time, troll groups, etc. Putting players through the CT ringer in order to get their relic is highly unfair. Plus, what makes you think these issues won't resurface?

Third, if you can't get 24 people NOW why do you think SE can wave a wand and POOF there's people ready and waiting to queue, whenever you want. Queue times were very long for CT1 when CT3 was out. Take that into consideration.

Go ahead and make them undersized, but don't expect to return to the same volume of players that ran older content when it was still relevant. Once again, CT sucks.

Well, all I can say is I hadn't run Ifrit Extreme in *literally* over a year because I could care less about the rewards there and I never really had any of my friends ask for help with that particular primal. Also, maybe it had something to do with fighting 3 different versions of him just made the encounter stale for me quicker than the other two. I went in a few days ago to help a friend get her fire pony and we did an unsync 3man for the win. It was more fun than I can remember having in Ifrit Extreme ever before.

So we ran it more. Because it was fun. Not for some reward.

21 tank 3 healer Syrcus Tower during 2.5 was also the most fun I've had in a 24man raid. All I'm trying to say is, you may not expect participation/interest levels to increase if they add unsync to the CT trio, but I could give two shits about any of those 3 instances and if they unsynced it and allowed undersized parties I would instantly be intrigued to go back into all of them. You wouldn't feel empowered to kill something with 8 people that was designed and tuned for 24??

Well, I would...so before you begin citing annotated references about "western player mentality", which I'm sure you Mastered in, please don't forget that....ya know....sometimes.......just the actual fun you're having can be considered the reward for some of us.

Also, when CT3 came out, the weekly quest also came out making you run all 3 for your upgrade items. Uh...everyone was doing that for a solid month. Queues were not "very long". At least not on my data center, which, oh Hey!!!, you happen to be a part of >.>

I agree with most of the suggestions but I dont want them included on the new relic quest, Im tired of running CT just to get some sands of time and roll 2 at the end of the dungeon, sooo no more grinding pls

If anyone is looking for a new FC and/or needs to complete the Crystal Tower storyline then please follow the link below and register for an upcoming FC sponsored event on Exodus. Were attempting to run through all three parts of the Crystal Tower (or at least as much as we can granted que times/ unforeseen disruptions) on Friday afternoon/ evening C.S.T. October 16th, 2015. I like the idea of a daily for a random CT raid that would grant substantial XP + Poetics for level 50s (and Esoterics/Laws for 60) or a weekly for an item to upgrade esoterics.

Not so sure about using CT for Relics though, doesn't feel right to force players to spam dated content for a new/top tier weapon. Maybe its ok if they only need to do it once..

A Duty roulette for those kind of contets up to me is a viable option, they still land good glamours, desinthetizzable gear, minions and they can add other little things (but not hoping for something that force u to do it), and pack all in a DR, it would be still better than the Main scenario one that up to me is getting older and older day by day and need to get a fix.
