[DEV REQUEST] Hiding hotbars when weapon is sheathed

I think this would be a nice feature to have for when our weapons are sheathed if enabled in the hotbar config. Whenever we sheathe our weapon or if we're not engaged the hotbars you choose in the config would be hidden for a less cluttered look (depending on how many hotbars you use).

I could go for this - I dunno if I'm in the minority, but I separate out combat and non-combat options on my hotbars, and the non-combat stuff is off to the side, to keep the main UI space focused. It'd be nice to have a clearer view when I'm not engaged, to appreciate the world and character detail better.

That is exactly what I would like to have. Selecting which hotbars are hidden would enable you to have job change/item hotbars (that are off to the side) visible while the combat ones are hidden

That's a cool idea and I think this is not hard to implement. As long as it's optional and you can select which bars to auto hide I see no problem with this. I would definitely like to see this in game.

It's possible to make a macro to draw/sheath weapon and show/hide hotbars if you want to use that as a work around.

It's one more UI thing for the PS3 to cope with. It may be harder than you think.

I don't know if there is a difference here because I am not a console user, but I am a controller user and you can hide all the hotbars until you actually hold down L1 or R1 to use them.

i can only assume you can do the same with the controller on the console too.

You can hide the UI in a similar manner on PC. But that's not automated. The issue would be the automation. It's minor, technically, but given how stretched the PS3 already is...

If not hide, I wouldn't mind if the bars fade to near 100% transparency.
