Thread: ffxiv 1.0 question

i remember back in the ff 14 1.0 days there were hidden areas in the map to explore etc. secret caves for example. back in 11 there were some secrets to explore and discover. It really expanded on an already huge world. I'm currently playing the new heavenward expansion. So far i feel that its pretty good, the areas are very pretty and the story is pretty good.

In terms of direction, any word on what they will do? Will they incorporate some of those elements from ff14 1.0 or 11. i really enjoyed discovering those hidden gems and am wondering if they will go that route one day.

Hopefully one day. I really enjoyed XI a lot and I think I could of got into and liked 1.0 if it had not ran so poorly, that really the only reason I stopped playing 1.0.

just looking at that map...so huge. Also if im not mistaking it was one seamless world? no loads to the next area?

but in 1.0 it was always the same cave. Different locations, different enemies in them, but the cave was always the same ^^

That's correct, but it was one big empty map of cookie cutter corridors.

Someone made a montage video showcasing the copypasta of most areas.

man that looks like a Wow map, sad to hear it was false advertisement. that looks way more fun to explore then the tiny map i have now lol

That sucks FFXI was an amazing game that got my attention for years, even more then WoW. sad they treat it in such a way
