    Bugged Action Timers

    I already started threads praising the improvements in the game, but this is not one of them.

    Last night, during an action-packed session at Zahar'ak, I noticed a lot of my spell-casting attempts were not actually followed by the corresponding spell... it took me a while (it was hectic) but it eventually became evident to me why this was happening: My casting timers had stopped working, and I was pressing on apparently ready spell icons attempting to cast spells which were still on cool-off.

    Edit: This has nothing to do with the elimination of the action queue in the recent patch. All the attempted casting happened after all previously triggered actions were complete.

    Both the time counter, and the dimming of the spell when not available, suddenly stopped happening. A reboot of the game client fixed it.

    Has anybody else noticed this?

    Nope. But the timers have changed if you read the patch notes. You can no longer just cast spell, wait x time prior to finishing of cast and press next cast. You actually have to wait for the action to finish before proceeding with the next action. This works in both Mage and Melee classes and I'm sure Gathering as well; though I have not tried gathering since patch release.

    I think he means, actions being represented by the UI as being ready, are not actually so. Thus misleading the player into attempting actions that are not ready.

    This happened to me the other night.

    Correct. This is the issue I mention in the OP.

    To reword: I came to realize that the action-timer effects (both the time counting, and the dimming of the icon) on the action bar had stopped working. Hence, I was pressing icons for spells that appeared to be ready, but in reality were still in cool-off mode. This has nothing to do with the suppression of the action queue.

    Yea I have also noticed this, I think its because they have changed the recast timers and its somehow effected the icon display somehow, does need to be fixed and hopefully the guys over on the JP forum have picked this up so it can be fixed in the next patch.

    The first time I rode a chocobo, I kept it for the entire 30 minutes. When the time was up, the timer stayed blinking at 00:00 for about a minute before my chocobo actually ran away. I'm not complaining over an extra minute, but it just seems sloppy.
