I don't remember my first actual rage quit (I rather wipe myself 30 min through some content and get the results than getting locked out for 30 min; also, I just can't seem to be able to abandon hope that SOMEWHERE in other players there is this...spark of will to get better and if I just stay and keep talking to them, things will change at some point (it never does, but whatever xD).
So I have only quit parties like..3 to 4 times in all of my FFXIV life.
The first time was a "sad quit" though, not a rage one xD
Hullbreaker Isle, me as WHM, first time in the content, pretty much first time playing after a whole year of absence, too.
Buff and go, tank starts running around in the first area pulling EVERYTHING. Finally stops somewhere, several bees on him, I already struggle to keep him alive, tank does NOTHING to keep hate, just stands there while I spam my MP away, staring at my hate colors in fear. Suddenly the tank starts running again, to do what? Pull MORE mobs. At that point I used benediction, only to see the tank's HP drop from full HP to 0 in less than a second from the bees' stings and the trap he ran into. After the tank is dead, of course we all wipe. I return and realize that the tank already stormed off before any of us could get up again, let alone get buffed, pulling the whole room again while telling me how much I suck at healing in party chat. I try again but of course this time we wipe even faster because I don't have MP, cooldowns or ANYTHING to keep him from dying. After returning again, I turn around, say "Sorry, I don't think I'm good enough to heal this instance yet" and quit.
I never tried that dungeon again for the next 2 months, and I didn't heal it until recently, all because that one time was so traumatizing and I felt really guilty about my failure to heal through that dmg too. Since back then I learned that the tank did pretty much every possible thing wrong and healing through Hullbreaker Isle is actually not a big deal at all, but hey, we all know that the worst players are always the ones who are the most convinced that they are the sole pillar of perfection in the party...
