The game is fun, I've grown to like some new members in the FC, and the PVP has been oddly entertaining. I'm just waiting to start the Relic quest; finally got a class (two actually, soon three) that I really enjoy and wouldn't mind doing the grind for.

Probably a combination of there being so much to do, and avoiding getting into end game raiding.

The first is all crafting leveling as well as battle class leveling, exploring, fc runs etc. I really do enjoy leveling and learning all classes as well as the stories behind them.

The second is because I decided to take a more casual approach to this game than I have with all others. I find when I get into endgame like Alex savage, it just becomes a reptitive gear grind, that while it has its own charm, burns me out on games more quickly. I find I'll be goning along fine for a while and then one day I'll just stop logging in and never go back. I don't want to have that happen with ffxiv.

Mostly relationships at this point. I keep in touch with friends that don't live close to me through MMO's.

Additionally, the raids are within reach to somebody that doesn't grind every day, so I rather enjoy this game.

I play this game very casually. I play on one server with my husband and I have an alt on another server where I do very casual progression with some friends of mine. This game is perfect for people like me who just want to hop on a few times per week, have some fun with people I know, and then log off. And I still have time for other hobbies/games as well. I don't treat this game as my be-all-end-all entertainment source.

I can see why this game would feel anemic for hardcore players though, but unfortunately I think MMOs have just grown out of the phase where you're encouraged to spend 12 hours a day playing them. The times are a-changin'.

I log on because it's more fun for me than WoW. I'm still trying to catch up in gearing for Alex1, because I'm a fair bit behind everyone else (usually due to technical difficulties).

I'm a new player and after the initial levels were over, and i had one quest in my log and i'd done all the dungeons i had available, I was thinking 'it's been a fun trial but i doubt i'll stay much longer because there isn't that much to do'.

Now I hit 50 and I'd argue I actually have way too much to do. My quest log is about 15-16 quests, there is about 11 hard mode dungeons, which seem to be much more varied, I have been doing a bunch of extreme trials and raids. Levelling the weaver, doing the beastman daily quests, doing the main quest patch content plus the mail quests and the hildibrand quests.

I honestly do not currently have enough time to play. And for the next month at least I have heavensward. Then anything I missed. I imagine with an hour or so a day and weekends, I have another three months left before i worry about exhausting content.

At the very very end? Sure it may come down to logging on for raids. But once you hit 50, you'll see a lot open up.

Leveling crafting. If it wasn't for that I honestly don't know if I have it in me to pay a sub just to cap 450 Eso Tomes per week.

I play with a good few friends, we do some dungeons and raids together, as well as just get into general shenanigans and have a laugh.

I also enjoy levelling and doing my daily roulettes/beast tribes/cactpots and PVP, keeps me busy, though I hope for a bit more variety come 3.1.
