    What's your motivation to play ffxiv?

    It's part of my relax time. I get thrills from success in game, for instance trifling new dungeons, new trials, new raids, achieving the highest level/ ilvl. Even crossing off achievements directly from the end game list. I can safely say that I balance the mmo and my personal life perfectly, leading a healthy and successful lifestyle. So what's your motivation?

    Additionally, It's something that I can do in my free time around life's needs that I actually feel like I'm working on something that won't simply end, towards a goal that's ever changing.

    Some people think I'm kidding; they are crazy. Currently trying to get through PvP to get that Field Commander set (also want to get better since I don't like being a dead weight...but in the end it's for that set. It looks so nice.)

    Also I have an addictive personality so I tend to play video games in huge chunks... this one....just hasn't ended yet....

    Improving my skills in this game (always room for improvement), but I also like exploration and scenic environments. This is also something that I and my SO uses to do things together in a long distance relationship. Also, glamours.

    Social time. A lot of my meat space friends play, but they live too far away for easy visits. XIV is a way for us to "hang out" without driving two hours from one town to another.

    We are, however, making the gathering journey tonight for a pizza and card game girls only Friday evening. S'gonna be fun!

    Helping friends, LS members and FC mates, glamour, trying out new jobs and new experiences.

    Plus, I am a Primal slayer. Gotta make sure to keep Eorzea safe while everyone sleeps at night xD

    I play MMOs for the story primarily. Also as an outlet for aggression. There's a great deal of stress relief to be had by hacking enemies to bits in the cyber world
    I'm also a moderately disabled shut-in. Quite literally a hermit, really. So FF is my link to a safer social atmosphere.

    The people, i don't think i'd be playing nearly as much if it weren't for my FC.

    As of 3.0, the story as well. The familiarity i have with the serie as a whole helps the experience too.
