    That was exactly my thought process, and how could I forget potential Physick II / III?

    I'd have liked a high-level action that when cast upon a party member their attacks will recover 5% of it as TP (ie, dragon kick deals 900 you get 45 TP back) - and would be even better if that move which spreads galvanise and E4E would spread that too. Dunno what the action would be called though. Then there could be also a 'modifier' to it also where if in cleric (or whatever stance SCH may get instead) then TP recovery would change to HP recovery, so allow SCH to dps a little more.

    True, as a genuinely dedicated healer Scholar will be very potent. But that's not really what people 'love' about Scholar. What they like is how Scholar can, at the flip of a stance, become a DD that also heals. Take away arcanist and that ceases to be. We know this will be the case just by looking at White Mage and Astrologian. Sure, they have some attack spells but no where near the same amount as an arcanist-based Scholar. I'm not really sure people genuinely think about what they ask for sometimes.

    True, but who says DD spells can't be added? Could do more than just Dia/Dia II and add some offensive abilities as well as an action that boosts magic damage (would stack with cleric stance).

    I'ts more like Bio, Bio II, Miasma and Miasma II would belong to SCH, the only reason SMN has skills based around those DoTs is because their offensive actions are limited by sharing actions with SCH through arcanist.

    Summoner gets Ruin III so Ruin I, II would belong to them. The way to look at it is consider SCH as light/dark, the light is their healing aspect and the dark is the DoT aspect by giving the DoTs to SCH you could better define Summoner around the pets rather than defining Summoner around those DoT.

    Summoner:
    Ruin=1
    Summon=4
    Aetherflow=6
    Energy Drain=8
    Summon II=15
    Sustain=18
    Ruin II=38
    Rouse=42

    SCH:
    Bio
    Physick
    Summon
    Aetherflow
    Energy Drain
    Miasma
    Virus
    Summon II
    Ressurection
    Bio II
    Bane
    Eye for Eye
    Rouse
    Miasma II
    Shadow Flare

    That's how I would split the abilities and I'd do that because I think the dark aspect of the DoT better fit SCH, they seem forced on SMN and force SMN to have a playstyle based on those DoTs because they are limited by Arcanist actions.

    If this setup SMN is missing 9 actions and think about it, where could one grab those 9 actions from? From the pet actions.

    Summoner:
    Ruin=1
    2=Wind Blade (New DoT) Enhanced when you have Garuda active
    Summon=4
    4=
    Aetherflow=6
    Energy Drain=8
    10=Rock Buster=New dmg ability enhanced when Titan is active
    12=Shockwave (Similar to WHM's Fluid Aura)
    Summon II=15
    Sustain=18
    26
    30
    34
    Ruin II=38
    Rouse=42
    46
    50

    Just to give an idea of what it could be, but the idea is this. You draw actions from the pet onto SMN itself, SMN has access to using them but they can increase the potency when used with active pet.

    Each ability that is designated towards a pet could grant an "elemental aether" that could then be used to perform certain pet actions So say using Shockwave grants 2 wind aether but 3 when Garuda is active. Wind Aether could be used to perform actions on Garuda or exchanged to "swiftcast" a new pet out, but that "swiftcast" can only be used on summoning a pet.

    But ya, that's how far I"ll take the idea since odds are they won't ever make any change like this, while it would be nice to define SMN more by it's pets than the DoT the only way they could do that is further splitting SMN into two entities in itself. The Summoner and the Evoker, the Evoker could be the one with DoT manipulation and Bahamut Trance along with other primal trances to enhance their flexibility while the Summoner could then be focused more on the pets. But I'd say it's very unlikely they would do something like this. It is a bit of a shame that SMN pets in a way got the short end of the stick it would be nice if their abilities could be designed more around the pets themselves but it would be really hard to try and fix it now.

    Instead of just broil, we could have broil and broil 2 to replace ruin and ruin 2. Then have broil 3 at level 54 (Is that the level we get broil regularly?)

    Then Dia and Dia 2 instead of bio and bio 2

    Then instead of a third dot and bane, we could give them an aoe nuke like the other 2 healers get.

    SCH should retain the abilities from ACN as SCH is a very non-elemental type job lore wise. SMN however has elemental abilities from their Egis. If they split SCH from ACN, they should give SCH supplemental spells and abilities from previous iterations of SCH from other FF games.

    These abilities would be transfered to ACN but be renamed and have different animations.
    Aetherflow=Sublimation
    Ruin=Force
    Bio=Dia
    Energy Drain=Aspir
    Miasma=Sap
    Sustain=Tabula Rasa
    Ruin II=Force II
    Bio II=Dia II
    Bane=Modus Veritas
    Rouse=Embrava
    Miasma II=Sap II
    Shadow Flare=Meltdown/Kaustra(FFXI's renaming of Meltdown)

    Physick/Eye4Eye and such would be stripped from ACN and replaced with some other DPS ability, so SMN would lose some of its utility. SMN and SCH would both have Virus, just maybe SCH's would be called Curse or Imperil or something.

    Here's a list of 1.0 spells/abilities that were cut in 2.0 for reference to new ideas of future skills:

    Sure, let's give scholars the mnd traits and remove the 30% pet bonus from maim & mend II. I'm totally ok with it.
