What actions would Scholar have if it were seperated from Arcanist?

Let's come up with some craziness. Here are the guidelines:

    1) The job would theoretically start from level 30 like the 3.0 jobs and unlocked once you complete the level 30 arcanist class quest while meeting sch's current class requirements.
    2) Certain actions/traits are imported from arcanist to sch leaving arcanist with new actions tailored more towards acn/smn while leaving a lot of room for new sch actions (thus this thread)
    3) Since codex seem to be treated as a sch only book and Grimoire for acn/smn, it only seems fitting to conceptualize scholar as an "extra job" with its own "unique weapon."

    Job Actions:
    Lv 1
    2
4 Physick, Eos (Formerly Summon I)
    6
    8
    10
    12
    15 Selene (Formerly Summon II)
    18
    22 Resurrection
    26
    30
    34 Eye for an Eye
    38
    42 Rouse
    46
    50

    Job Traits:
    8
    14 Enhanced Mind I
    16 Enhanced Mind II
    20
    24
    28
    32 Enhanced Mind III
    36
    40
44 Ehanced Eye for an Eye
    48 Enhanced Rouse

Oh, and 4) The existing actions for sch only would also have to be adjusted for lack of an aetherflow. May I suggest a raised mp cost or a new submechanic?

Hmmm, let's take a page out of 1.0 Thaumaturge's book.

    Level 2: Dia
    Level 26: Dia II

Basically the "light" version of Bio from acn/smn, dealing unaspected damage to a single target. Unoriginal, I know...but a start :3

Getting Eos at such a low level would require all the 30+ job quests to be completely rewritten.

He's suggesting it be a 30+ job. So you'd be getting Eos at level 30, just like we used to, and can use it when we level sync down to that level, just like we used to.

Scholar should be connected to Arcanist though, Bio/Miasma/Virus/etc. all kind of fit with the Healer aspect of Scholar. Summoner is the one which should be turned into an advanced Job like Dark Knight/etc.

They should rework Arcanist into an actual Healer, since that's what I actually remember Carbuncle as being for most of the franchise (Healing Ruby, Reflect, etc.), while Summoner should be reworked from a pet Job into what it is 50-60, since Eos/Selene are pretty much perfect while Summoners Egis are just crap (summoning a pet once does not as Summoner make... Scholar and Machinist are more deserving of the name at this point...). The way Bahamut is handled on Summoner should have been how all the main six Primals were handled. Just throw in some elemental wheel mechanic for building Primal Aether, Final Fantasy XIV has two Elemental Wheels; Fire > Ice > Wind > Fire, and Earth > Lightning > Water > Earth. So you could be building two stacks at a time, if you build Inferno (Ifrit) stacks, you decrease Frost (Shiva) stacks, but your Tremor (Titan)/Levin (Ramuh)/Whorl (Leviathan) stacks remain unaffected, for example. Plus the existing Dreadwyrm stacks. Would require a complete rewrite of Summoner (same unlock requirements as Dark Knight/etc., which would mean you'd have beaten all 6 Primals to unlock it and they can actually do something with them all), but given how lackluster the current one is I think it's needed... Both Summoner and Scholar were rushed out the door for 2.0s release and it shows, but I'd say Scholar came out on top. Dreadwyrm stance shows promise, but instead of applying that awesomeness to the rest of the Job, we're getting pet glamours instead... RIP Summoner... I'll call your Bahamut Mage from now on.

Hmm... if Scholar were split off it'd likely become an Extra Job, and it'd likely lose alot of it's DD capabilities. It'd get several more healing spells to bring it on par with White Mage and Astrologian, and maybe some utility spells. It wouldn't get the same number of attack spells as it had with arcanist because it'd be completely geared for healing, like White Mage and Astrologian. Heck, Leeches might be moved down in level to make it as useful as Esuna. Essentially Scholar would cease to be the DD-capable healer it is now because it wouldn't have the DD base class that is arcanist.

yup. SMN should be the Extra Job and it shouldn't even be a pet job. take away all the Arcanist stuff and give SMN Inferno, Tremor, Vortex, Judgement, Wave and Diamond Trances.
