Post 1.19 What have we gained where can we improve

FYI.. Archer is far from "great" as it has fallen to the lowest DD currently. Players who originally leveled ARC from launch (fotm lol... just because your new, doesn't mean we all are) may have thought they were going something similar to the DD capacity that RNG brought to XI. I personally had hoped ARC would not take such a strong nerf so that it could remain competitive as a DD against the 'jobs' that the other DD classes will get. As we are becoming BRD and therefore moreso support in our 'job', our best bet for maintaining competitive dps would have likely been from remaining in ARC.

The recommendation to start leveling something else is not only valid, but an obvious inevitability. Since ARC currently is doing the lowest dps, it would make sense to level a more viable DD. Soon ARC will become really useful either as a DD or later in support as BRD, but right now, you'd be better off bringing something else to the party, especially if there's already one ARC there. Aside from that, if you only had one class.. it was time to start leveling something else anyway..

I still seem to be out damaging most other jobs except for mages, and pulling hate whenever I want.

If you are good you will still be at the top. Now you can't be lazy and the top DD, us ARC's will have to pick one.

Even if I can't be the top DD, I still love the play style of ARC.

And enough of all this doom and gloom about us becoming Bards.

You're all acting like there isn't a bunch of Characters running around with GUNS.

You would really rather pursue the support role over blowing holes in things faces with bullets?

I think ARC will be the perfect pre-rec for the inevitable Muskateer.

2.. leveling something just because its currently the op class.. is exactly what FOTM is... self'd...

You seem to be a little too slow for me to warrant going back-n-forth with.. congratulations on defining what a FOTM is, guess you just learned that and want to cry 'FOTM!' all over the forums now.. Try actually showing where I said anything about leveling just because a class is op. I even said I leveled my ARC to 50 since launch.. but no I get it.. screaming 'FOTM!' 'FOTM!' is a lot more fun than reading comprehension.. ->

No, it's not. Let's look at some examples:

"Well, ARC sucks now. Time to go level literally anything else so I can be useful again."

^Not FOTM, just indignant.

"ARC is dead! Long live LNC!"

^FOTM all the way.

"They fixed it, now it sucks" is part of FOTM, sure, but only part. There's not a trope with that name? Really?

Well, I'm pretty new to this game, had it maybe a month now, but I've barely been playing up until recently.

I had leveled all the classes up to a certian point as to where I got sick of them, just to find out what I liked in this game. I generally prefer Archer/ranged classes over anything, but I decided to try go for a different approach and play melee, for a bit of variance (albeit it failed miserably).

I started playing ARC ~3-4 days before 1.19 hit, and I loved it. It was tons of fun, so I decided I'm gonna keep on keeping on.
Then Bard was announced. My dreams were coming true (also dem harpbow things look awesome). &&& then 1.19 hit.
Do I feel like I hit less? Yes.
Can I visibly notice in parties that I'm hitting less (minus Multi-shot with 3 arrows nocked) Hells yes.
Do I care? Noooope!

The class is a ton of fun, and although I have noticed a lot less people with Bows on their back in Ul'dah, I don't care - at all. It is only 1.19, there's a looooong way to go, and if the class is fun, play it!
