Lol no but seriously... how do you guys think about having some kind of FF XII technology. I always liked how Final Fantasy could blend Medieval/Fantasy themes with Futuristic technologies.

Look at FF VI, FFX, FF XII ... i may be forgetting other examples.

How about a high-tech city with FFXII style technology? Or with FF VI style steampunk tech.

It could also open the door to new crafting classes.

Their technology is seemingly as advanced as FFXII's Arcadian Empire if not moreso, but has the aesthetic design of FFVI's Gestahl Empire

Check out the rank 26 storyline quest and you'll get an in-game peek at some of their airship...things technology, or you can check out the opening CG for the game and a few game trailers which features what looks like a Garlean soldier(resembles a Judge from Ivalice) wielding what definitely looks like a gunblade.

As for what's stopping us from going to the moon? Well nothing really. It all depends on what kind of stories the devs have in mind for later expansions to the game, although going to the moon or another planet in FFIV or V pretty much felt like jumping the shark a bit. What would be even more interesting or "fitting" would be going to a parallel or subterranean world not unlike the world of the Espers in FFVI. Time travel is already a mechanic used in FFXIV so why not?
