    Weekly Caps and Burnout

Is anyone else getting a little tired of needing to meet the weekly scrip cap? In ARR, I used to work on crafting progression during lulls when I didn't feel like running battle content or the like, and the...laid back nature of it meant that I could progress at my own pace. That's not really the case now, as I'm compelled to progress a little each week. If I miss a week, I'm always going to be a week behind, no matter how hard I work.

The Tomestone caps work similarly, of course, but it's not as troublesome since many types of content you do at cap contribute. You don't get Red Scrips from regular crafting--you have to go into a special mode to do it, and it kind of feels like a slog, rather than enjoyable progression.

For reference, as an example, I worked on my 50 Spirits of Salt (and all the rest of the Artisan's tokens) in random spurts when the mood struck, sometimes knocking out a huge batch of them and other times putting it off til later. I really liked that freedom and I wish we still had it.

I agree with you on this. We've been told the current design is part of some master plan and everything will fall into place later. But as it stands right now we're in a terrible position where the current gear is pretty but otherwise non useful for anything functional except making more of it somewhat more efficiently.

I just barely unlocked RED SCRIPTS and so I have to learn it but it looks like to me gather up all the mats to make collectibles to cap on scripts...pretty mundane and boring but at least you know exactly what you need to gather (or buy) and then craft...I am sure my opinion will change once I start actually doing it this week.

I don't mind the crafting scrips since that's just ~15 minutes of macro crafting. Capping gatherer scrips every week, on the other hand, can bugger right off though.

I get just a little bit sad every time I realize it's Thursday again.

And even that much is only due to someone posting the locations of favor materials for us.

Without that it would cost you a week just figuring out how they work and where to get them.

As for changing your mind, well..you can always try completely forgetting crafting or gathering exists (apart from capping). Then after a few weeks you can look at your piles of tokens, feign surprise and craft like you arent limited by harsh weekly grinding and weekly caps.

Simple minds are easily entertained. There are 7 days in the week. Out of those 7, it would be a shame if noone at all looked forward to Thursday.

I 100% agree. DoH scrips are just retainer ventures, quick synths, then making 10 of the item on a day it's in bonus.

DoL on the other hand is about 6 hours of hitting up crysahl and adaman, with favours in between.

I actually started thinking about this because a gatherer friend of mine was talking about how he wasn't having fun anymore, admittedly. I don't gather, but I haven't really been enjoying my crafting progression anymore, either. Macro crafting isn't really fun for me, and I much preferred the older systems where you couldn't macro craft the turn-ins, but you also had control over the pace of your progression in a way that we no longer have.
