WHM gear is BUTT UGLY

The head piece is awful, I'll give you that. But overall I prefer WHM eso before SCH one. I seriously can't stand the look of SCH Eso. Other than that, I personally really like some of the WHM weapons too. I love the eso weapon and the ramuh weapon too. But I guess that's just me. :v

It's the classic white Mage look, if it looked any different it would just be wrong. And AST AF gear look awesome as heck! I love how they stay looking close to the old FF classic jobs. Just me though I've been a long time fan.

Um... Yeah. Cos Black Mage's AF2 is really the classic Black Mage look. If it wasn't, it would just be... Wait a minute.

It's fine to have classic design job gear. We saw that a lot with AF1 and AF1b. But I... don't really see the "must-have" of making the AF2 another reiteration of the classic design. Especially when other jobs have gotten a much looser interpretation of the 'iconic look'. ^^;

Because it's clearly modeled after it (just like Black Mage's Esoteric gear, which is modeled after the Magus job).
If anything, it's appropriate that it gets said gear.

I... fail to see how a cloak with cat ears (or whatever animal it's supposed to be) is somehow the origin of the WHM AF2 headgear. If the AF2 headgear had simply been a hood, with your hair visible beneath and everything, then sure, I could see more point in that. (Though those ears, as others have stated, is a pretty... big part of the Seer gear design.)

*cough* Well, given SE's penchant for adding balls to plenty of fights (Ramuh, Leviathan, Ultima, just to give a few examples), it wouldn't surprise me...

Most cloth gear in general is ugly. It always looks the same a robe/coat thing with big ugly boots or sandals. Can't we have some different kinds of shoes? Maybe male/female specific gear? Like cool shirts and long jackets for males and dresses for females? A lot of the gear in this game is some of the most uncreative designs ever. No race specific gear apart from starting outfits, Not much gender specific gear, Small number of class specific designs Most designs just a reskin.

Most of ff xiv gear designs are female centric. I hope they differentiate some for each gender, like what they do to ninja af1 armor.

This is part of the reason I'm taking a break until the winter as it's so frustrating being a male healer and the gear we get. It's fricken all dresses and SO ugly. Why can a female tank be in a summer dress and hat, but I literally have been wearing the south seas talisman since level 30 and have yet to find a single thing I'd want to replace it with!? The ONLY thing I want SO bad is the Bohemian's Coat because it's soooooo cool, but was only part of Lightning Strikes and you can't get it any other way. I honestly feel like SE staff has never been outside before. See the new gear in Mogstation you can buy, the swimsuits? The men's one!?!? I'm gay and pretty fit, gym 4-5x a week, and even I wouldn't be caught dead in that stuff, why do they think men want to wear basically a bra with a speedo!? I just don't get it though because if I think of prominent FF characters that are male, like Cloud, Sephiroth, Squall, Cid, etc, can you see ANY of them wearing this crap??? Like at least put stuff like the Bohemian's Coat in Mogstation, I'd pay $20 just for that!

I just wish people would stop saying that this is how we are SUPPOSED to look, that we are a healer and based on past games this is how WHM looks etc because it's BS. Like I said in my last post, I've had female tanks in a bra and panties tanking, and I'm pretty sure a warrior or dark knight isn't supposed to look like that.

It's nice to have the option to be as stripperific on a male character as on a female character, but I, too, prefer not to have an emphasis on speedos and nipple sashes.

What really irks me is how fantastic, versatile (non-AF!) glamours like the High Allagan tank coat are arbitrarily role-restricted. Casters who want a more battlemage-like vibe get...the Light Steel Galerus. With bonus nipple sash.
