I would've liked if ranged LB wasn't functionally inferior to caster in every single aspect, but eh. At least we do have a damage lb so double BRD/MCH in 4 man dungeons isn't denied a damage LB. I would've liked for it to be more, if not at least the same, damage as caster LB considering the effective range is much much more limited than a caster's in every scenario.

I only do Duty Finder stuff. I have seen Dragoon and Ninja LB3 but never anything else.

I don't even know what my own LB3 looks like.

Whether you like it a or not, AoE LB has had its uses in encounters in the past.

Also I wish people were more willing to LB trash dungeons.

I believe the point is that healer/tank LBs don't ever get used unless shit goes south.

It's the highest potency LB you can use for 2 or more targets. (e.g. Oppressor + 0.5 in A1S, last wave in A2S, Living Liquid + hand in last phase of A3S...etc.)


Specific potencies:
Melee LB1: 2300
Caster LB1: n*1400

Melee LB2: 5000
Caster LB2: n*3000

Melee LB3: 9000
Caster LB3: n*5400

Where n=the number of targets

Mage lb has far more uses then dungeons just like someone already pointed out.

Also just as a note to some that may not know, Bard lb is actually stronger then caster. Obviously there are reasons you would use one class lb over another.
Before hw i really did not like that say smn, blm had the same exact lb same goes for drg, Nin, Monk
Now at least it "seems" different

Oh and yes PVP, don't you just get a 1 bar lb? I only recently got back into PVP so dunno.

Nothing I've seen suggests brd/mch lb is stronger than caster, but maybe I'm out of date?

Only one I can find saying other wise is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...the_brdmch_lb/ but their evidence is "it's generally accepted" so idk what to make of that. The wiki doesn't have potencies for phys ranged lb.

Either way, as others have said, 2+ targets better for ranged/caster lb, which is pretty often. The ones that get kinda shafted are healer/tank lbs

Ranged LB is weaker than caster's by about 10% from my experience. And even then, there's absolutely no reason for it considering the effective range is pitiful compared to caster, especially on trash pulls; the width is an absolute joke (its no wider than a roegadyn) and you won't hit a pack of mobs with how they pool over a tank.
