Are using Eso's for STR ACCs worth it?

I'm an i190 PLD and i187 DRK. Since the moment my character woke up from Hydaelyn's dream as a lvl1 newb GLD I've always and always used VIT accs. Never once in my career in in ARR and HW have I experienced the supposed "You're shite for using VIT accs" accusation.

Until today, by 2 NINs in Neverreap who always took aggro from me on the later half of the dungeon no matter what I do on my DRK. Despite semi-constant heckling and being called a "discount store DRK" (actual words by one of them), we cleared it without actually wiping on anything despite always losing aggro.

So now I have 550 Esos My entire right side are AlexNM VIT gear. Are STR accs worth it for someone who does not do AS? Mind you I was saving that for my DRKs Eso sword but if i200 STR accs are worth it it should be also useful for my PLD.

Or I could just go half and half, 3 STR and 2 VIT accs. Opinions?

If you dont really raid or priotize tank dps then i wouldnt suggest blowing eso on stuff like that. Id go for the wep.
Str vs vit seems to be a big topic in HW but neither build will make you inferior, if you are losing aggro from dps in vit then they are either heavily bursting one add while you are spreading your combos to all the adds or perhaps your drk rotation for solid aggro isnt too great.
Were you losing aggro on the bosses? Str definitely helps with aggro but any tank is able to hold aggro with vit unless severely undergeared.
All in all id suggest not getting the str accessories unless you plan to start raiding.
If anything tho, you could just get drk eso gear and then buy i180 law str sessories/alex ones.

Edit: just thought, if it was 2 nins then there could be the potential that they were intentionally smoke screening you for the laughs(reduces enmity generation )

    But thats speculation of course

One rule of thumb for accessories: in virtually all cases, you should buy accessories LAST with your esos. They only have one primary stat and are thus a much much worse bang-for-your-buck compared to left side gear. Apart from possibly one Ring, don't buy eso accessories ever until you've got a full Left Side + Weapon (Weapon being by far the most important thing to buy first).

It IS worth getting both a full set of Strength and Vitality accessories to mix and match for the right side, but for the content you're doing you'll be fine with 180 Law at first, then gradually replaced by 190 Alex NM stuff from Bolts.

The Ninjas were assholes for insulting you, but they were sort of right technically - you'll benefit a group at your gear level by having strength accessories because you have "enough" vitality from your 190 left side to not need Vit accs.

Start with a mix and match, maybe 2 str 3 vit, thne gradually replace the vit until you're 5 strength (as your other gear improves and you feel more comfy). But never forget - it's not written in stone that 5 Strength accs is ALWAYS the best option. Sometimes you'll queue into a random DF group with a really really undergeared healer and feel that you just need the extra vit to give them a cushion. But in most cases, once you're starting to seriously outgear content, the extra damage provided by strength accessories are just far more useful.

You should go with 3 STR 2 VIT with your 35 attribute points allocated into STR. Don't buy eso accessories, always prioritize left-side gear. Just go get the i190 ones with Alex NM.

Tho you should definitely be able to keep agro even with full VIT gear, especially as a DRK.

IMO STR is primarily what I stack when tanking. Speaking from a raiding point of view every fight has some sort of tank buster mechanic built into it. If you are able to survive that mechanic with minimal hp and cool downs then you are fine. Honestly VIT just gives wiggle room for you or your healers to fuck up. Savage Alexander at this point has DPS checks. Getting over those hurdles are more important than having and extra 3K HP pool. Now I don't know if the OP is focusing squarely on Dungeons or Raid content but if you are worried about the VIT issue you can just meld i150s like another poster staited. STR neck and rest VIT seems optimal secondary stat wise.

It sounds more like you were undergeared as compared to your two asshole ninjas and they either didn't know how to use their skills or didn't bother. Esoterics should be used for left side gear first, especially the weapon if you don't have it yet. That in and of itself will go miles in helping you keep hate. Though I prefer STR, VIT gear is fine for tanks if you want to use it. It's what we're built to use; STR accessories are a meta built by hardcore raiding.

Don't let people like that get to you. Just learn to enjoy kicking assholes back into the DPS queue. :3

I'd say get the fending and slaying accessories after you finish your left side gear. Can't hurt to have them all in case you decide to level something else that needs them!

I get slaying with eso cause basically vit is just hp, once you have the required hp for certain content anything above that is just detrimental, not to mention the fact i run full slaying for 99% of the things I do and only use some vit accessories for raiding/pulling a whole room in a dungeon
