VII is still a fine, fine game don't get me wrong, I've played it more than once and I own Advent Children. I just need more Zindane Tribal and Kuja in my life. That game was nuts in a way I really loved.

I liked VIII too, actually, but it was probably the weakest game for me. VIII and XIII.
