Need more ways to get gil

As it stands, there are really not many options to make gil. It's more or less gated by crafting, gathering, and RNG rare drops from retainers. As someone who doesn't do crafting/gathering, and has no interest in it, there is virtually no ways to build up my purse. "Merc" groups were a pretty popular thing back in ARR, but I think with the inclusion of story mode, there will be a huge decline in that market as well, at least until harder content is do-able with 7 people and rewards unique cosmetics.

    My thoughts:

Make other currencies have options to sink into gil, or buy materials for crafters/gatherers. Law, Eso, Wolf Marks, something. I have been sitting at cap for weeks now with nothing to buy, it'd be nice if my work in accumulating these currencies meant jack-all after finishing my gear set (Before it's said, I have full 180 law gear for every class, and all the pvp gear I need, so no, gearing alts is not a realistic alternative.)

I'm not saying gil should be easier to obtain, rather I wish it was more accessible to those that have no interest in crafting and gathering.

How is adding new ways of getting gil not making it easier to gain?

Go look up the difference between "ease" and "access"

I have, it's really not a "stupid" amount of gil. I haven't done the exact math, but it's something just short of 50k gil...on a weekly lockout? That's enough for my repairs, pretty much.

If you're spending 50K gil in repairs alone, then you're doing it wrong. Challenge logs plus bonuses and adventurer in need bonuses from daily roulettes add up quite a bit. Selling stuff you find in dungeons add up. Spiriting binding your gear for materia to sell adds up. Selling stuff you find from treasure maps add up. Stop making excuses for yourself and level up at least one or two crafting classes just so you can repair gear yourself and save on the costs.

I do agree with your second point, want more gil to be able to afford those expensive items? Put a little more effort into it, or save the roulette money. At the end of Heavensward I had about 1million gil, now if you didn't spend that on pointless things it could last you quite a long time, you don't need gil in this game.

If the new relic involves gil in any form my opinion is going to take a 180 turn, as of now the only thing you can really buy with gil is glamour items, and penta melded gear if you're a high end raider, lock casual progression behind gil and there's a problem. About treasure maps, those things are really worthless here on Tonberry, unless you're really lucky you're going to be making a loss, or a profit of 10-100ish gil when then turns into a loss because of MB taxes.

What exactly do you buy on a weekly basic that 50k each week is not enough?

To OP: have you already tried battle leves? It is the best way to get tradeable gear without doing crafting.

Could run the dungeons that have sellable gear in it. Not sure about your server but on mine the plundered gear sells for decent amount. Can do a Sasatash run in under 7 minutes and get some and sell it. Without doing crafting or gathering your stuck with roulettes and such. It would be nice to have something to do with poetic tomestones, though those minions still sell ok. Can't see them doing anything with law or eso's as they are still relevant.

Let's not forget the daily and weekly Hunts. Centurio Hunts, especially give quite a fair amount of gil.
