I struggle with the "don't fall off, you idiot" mechanics a lot so I sympathize. Titan EX and Leviathan EX especially cause me (and undoubtedly my poor party) a lot of frustration.

But like everyone is saying, that's just part of the fight. It's up to me to learn how to deal with that just like it's up to me to learn to avoid Landslides and Bodyslams. Making it all easier by ditching certain fight mechanics (unless those mechanics are super broken) is no fun just because a few of us hate it.

Because let me tell you... the moment I got the Titan EX rotation down and stopped falling off was a moment of triumphant for me. And because I finally learned to avoid it, we won! Dumbing that part down would have made that victory way less satisfying!

    I think this is fair.

My internet used to be horrible and I would lag everywhere, but Titan EX always gave me problems regardless. I would see myself and others stand far away from landslide before it ever went off, and it would still hit. I eventually found a way to maneuver around it with lag, but this only ever happened to me in that fight.

Not saying we should need future boss fights or anything like that, though. Hard/EX should always be as unforgiving as possible.

So the real question is: If the recommended hardware isn't handling an encounter very well, why have they not addressed THAT issue? Unforgiving mechanics are how you add difficulty, so I disagree with your conclusion, but I do agree that there is a problem here.
I agree with this, my wife could not dodge in titan hm a long time ago, and we were not sure why, tested ping and it was fine, and she never had problems dodging before. She had pretty decent frames in the game, but watching it I felt like her frame rate was dipping in that fight. So I went and upgeaded her computer and she cleared it first try.

without the cliff titan would be easy. They should do something like if your group all falls off , than the fight moves to another area where the boss gets more buffs. That would mix things up a bit

Actually avoiding the falling part of titan is easy as the only two things that knock you off is Land slides and when he lifts his foot up like a sumo wrestler, not sure how anyone really gets hit by either since both are obvious and really aren't that fast.. The lag feast of earth plumes or ignorance as to how bombs work is where most people fail at.

I'd actually say that the only threat of falling off is at Levi due to all the effects that happen at once while trying to flip the switch to the shield before Tidal wave goes off, not to mention that I've seen the thing that casts Dread Storm appear while the switch is up and ready to be turned on.

If we really want a fight where falling is a threat, they should re-make the FF11 diabolos fight and make the fading tiles more random and have that be the enrage timer. Also give him a some what obvious knock back move for tanks.

I actually like that you can fall in these fights. It adds challenge and isn't all that hard to avoid if you are paying attention. That being said, it can be quite annoying when a lot of people in your party are getting knocked out of the fight all the time.

Though I feel that even if they did stop using the falling mechanic, I am almost positive they would only replace it with another perma-removal mechanic, like "exile" or some such.
