Download DS4Windows. It's similar to Motioninjoy but for DS4 instead of DS3.
Seem to be getting deadzones on the right analog stick using scp, anyone else had this?
I use DS4Windows and it works fine and never drops and the vibration works too.
Use SCP server its easy to use and you can even get it to work wirelessly with a Bluetooth dongle.
This... Not sure what this business about third party programs are. The PS4 controller is plug and play.i use PS4 controller on the PC natively. though you have to go and customize the CFG file in your documents for it... the PS4 controller is native plug and play. what it does not do is set the buttons in the proper positions. so you have to go into the CFG and look for every line for the Alias.
so when you open it in notepad look for the <game_pad settings> and find Alias.
copy this line and replace the whole string line.
Alias {90,91,88,89,41,40,32,33,73,72,48,49,3,2,1,0,4,6,10,5,7,11,9,8}
after that. turn off what you used before and the PS4 controller will be native plug and play.
sadly if you connect any other controller or software to change button layout it will reset.
1. Neither. I use scpserver. Those two other programs kept dropping connection(mind you, this is wired) from the controller which resulted in wipes.
2. It DOES, but for some reason the game refuses to save the vibration setting. And by "does" I mean my controller rumbles when enabling the setting. I haven't noticed it otherwise.
SCPSERVER FOR THE WINNNNNNN
And weird, the vibration works for me!
I was able to pair my ps4 controller with my PC, and it works fine, although I had to do that alias thing too (why can't ffxiv detect the controller properly? Is is because Sony never released drivers?). However, my question is there a way to keep the controller paired with my PS4 as well? The PS button used to turn it on, and of course that no longer works.
That's an issue with Bluetooth peripherals, and it can't pair to more than one device at a time. Even if it could, then how would each know that an input was intended for them (actually that in itself is an easy fix but...)? EM signals are broadcast and everyone in range to receive gets the message, so you will have an instance of the device not knowing what to do if the both the PC and PS4 send it conflicting messages (such as shutting off).I was able to pair my ps4 controller with my PC, and it works fine, although I had to do that alias thing too (why can't ffxiv detect the controller properly? I bought a Mayflash wireless PS3 adaptor from Amazon for 15.00 - it works perfectly fine without any clunky software to configure.
