Yeah Xbox One controllers are the same way. Once I paired it with my computer it didn't work with the Xbox until I resynced it.That's an issue with Bluetooth peripherals, and it can't pair to more than one device at a time. Even if it could, then how would each know that an input was intended for them (actually that in itself is an easy fix but...)? EM signals are broadcast and everyone in range to receive gets the message, so you will have an instance of the device not knowing what to do if the both the PC and PS4 send it conflicting messages (such as shutting off).
got to take into account that the DS4 controller is direct input and the game is trying to assign the button layout as a Xinput controller. that is where they are conflicting.
yeah it's plug & play, but it's functioning as a generic PC controller with messed up default mapping. FFXIV allows us to remap the buttons but some other games don't. some of them don't even support anything but X360 controller so these 3rd pt software are like a life savior to us DS4 on PC users. if you plan to use DS4 as your main PC controller you should have one of these software.
I tried scp for my ps3 controll but it never worked at all there was rlly no help to guiding it ... So i gave up finguring its just for wireless..
the SCP server/driver is not for the PS3 controller. reason you can not get it to work. it will only work for DS4 controllers.
This one is the best. And it is the update of motionjoy that become DS4tool and now this of same group. If you use old one I recommend to switch to this. The bonus is that you can even use the touch to use mouse and other buttons while old program you couldn't.I would recommend InputMapper for PS4 controller. The installer would be all you need. You won't need the xbox controller driver or anything else, unlike some of the other ps4 controller softwares.
It's easy to use and you can customise everything, including the colour indicator and there is an advanced macro builder.

And yes, the vibration works pretty reliably.
PS: I used them all in order as they were updating.

if you got it to work. then please explain to the ones who are having trouble with it please.
i have not got it to work for myself. i been using DS4 tool ever since i got a DS4. so i have no reason to go back to the DS3 controller.
WRONG, completely wrong, I have been using my PS3 controller with SCP server for years... In fact SCP server was created before the PS4 even was out and even works for PS2 controllers.
The only help I can provide is a link to the page which has the most information about it on:
http://emulation-general.wikia.com/w...Driver_Package
AS far as my own experience common issues I have come across are:
Making sure the Xbox 360 controller drivers are installed and up to date
Making sure you UNBLOCK all the .exe files in the SCP server folder (right click, properties, unblock) SCPmonitor, SCPpair, SCPdriver, SCPserver, SCPservice.
Trying "Force install" in installation can sometimes work.
All of the above is written in more detail on the link.
The original thread and place to download it:
