Do you DPS as dragoon or not?

After the gl buff, a perfect monk will pull around 50 dps more than a perfect dragoon. So one of three things was happening for you. 1.) the other dps on the other boss were better geared than you 2.) you need to work on your rotation (since you said you couldnt kill the add in time this is highly likely) or 3.) the other boss had an aggressive warrior "tanking" and you had a paladin or less aggressive warrior/dark knight.

I DPS as SMN because I'd rather kill everything well rather than kill one thing well.

I pole dance as a DRG. I then take naps on floor, until the healer wakes me up.

Good dragoons can out-DPS most everyone, yes. But a bad dragoon can drag an entire alliance down just as easily as a bad-any-other-job.

I DPS as a bard and I've regularly out performed dragoons, monks, ninjas, summoners, and yes, even black mages. (Even with Foes.) It's because I'm good at my job, know my rotation, and geared myself for optimal performance (hint - NQ esoterics isn't necessarily best in slot for bard.)

DRGs ALWAYS out dps me on my BLM, even when I'm having a good damn day with my rotation lol.

OP you might want to rethink, and retype that post and actually try to make some sense. As it's just coming across as incoherent ramblings.

So they're saying DRG is too strong? Not really. The fight mentioned the .5 oppressor copies the HP of main a bit before he comes out so there's always going to be a discrepancy to start with. From there if the MNK was even a bit better geared that gap's just going to get larger. And if any ranged DPS are multidotting then even more so. Probably the worst fight to compare your job to another without taking those factors into consideration.

I main summoner and I don't really have an interest in leveling any other dps jobs. I dislike the idea of playing something I don't enjoy just because it's more dps. If you don't enjoy a job, you're not going to like it more just because it's the highest dps.

You're just bad using a monk.

A good BLM is also very hard to find. There are tons of them but if you use tools to actually check their performance, majority of them are doing 60%-70%ish of what the class can potentially do.

I hate how this question became relevant. Either you DPS as dragoon like everyone and do normal damage, or not and do inferior damage. I screwed up a fist of the father trying to DPS as monk. I was on 0.5 and i didn't do enough damage, the other one was lower by a large margin. Doing the positioning and all cd on cooldown.

Everytime i heal for expert it's dragoon and black mage. It happened once last week i got bard and black mage.

When everyone plays the same class, there is a reason.
