    Instead of levels/new skills, a Talent Point system?

    Instead of having level cap increased to 70, and new skills and more skill bloat... Can we please have a talent point system instead, and skill upgrades unlocked?

    Every level should give us "1" talent point to spend kind of like the way PvP ranks are. Every 4 levels you can spend to upgrade your skills and traits.



    We could even "unlock" skill upgrades by doing achievements and such. We do NOT need more skills, we should be upgrading our current skills to make them better.

    I don't want to be the same as everyone else, I think this system would be cool to make everyone more unique. Even adding passives that change skills into something different.

    For example:

    Paladin:

    Flash:
    4 points: Adds 60 Potency to Flash and changes the animation.
    4 points: Adds 2 enmity modifiers to flash.
    4 points: Flash restores 10% of the mana used to flash per enemy hit.

    Clemency
    4 points: Lowers cast time by 1.0
    4 points: Increases healing done to self by 30%.
    4 points: Heals all targets near the Paladin as well as the Paladin.

    Sheltron
    4 points: Blocks the next two attacks instead of one, and blocks magic as well.
    4 points: Blocks only attacks that take over 20% health.
    4 points: Lowers cool-down by 10 seconds.



    We already have so much skill bloat, allowing us to pick and choose our skills to suit our play-style would be a wise alternative to bloating us with new skills.

    If they add meaningful choices and don't simply make it obvious that one choice is best in all situations I don't mind. A bad way to do the talent trees would be what World of Warcraft originally had.

    The ability bloat issue in this game is real. I'd enjoy a talent point system/talent tree but like the above said it would have to be done carefully. WoW's talent system was in depth but suffered the major flaw of number crunchers finding "cookie cutter" specs that would out perform anything else. So everyone used these cookie cutter specs. It's been happening again in Warlords of Draenor.

    That doesn't really matter. There will always be "this" no matter what happens.

    To avoid any possibility of an inbalanced tree, they could simply just give everyone traits instead of abilities for the next level cap increase.
    Because at this point, it's clear Yoshida hates choices.

    Talent trees are a relic of the past, like grey loot and exp loss on death.

    If parsers are technically against the ToS because they don't want us to judge people for being incompetent, why would they add a system that is effectively pass/fail?

    While some choice would be nice, everyone knows people will choose whatever parses the most DPS, heals best, whatever. Exactly like both WoW's reforge and talent point system.
