I think one needs to be implemented but at the same time PS would be a step behind those of us that play on PC with our ability to quantify the damage done in an easy to read, straight to the point parse of active combat.
Parsers are already made for the game, they are just third party. So the PC has had a Parser for over a year now, Ps4 players don't have that luxury already. That doesn't mean PS4 players can't perform though. I play on Ps4 and I've downed all the content in the game.
I think you misunderstood my post because you basically just reiterated my point then added that last sentence about PS4 and your in game accomplishments.
Haha thanks for being that detailed and informative, im used to you making solid points, but im not "that" new. I know what it looked like pre patch and figured it would look like that post. It just didnt happen on my screen for real. I had no "automatic" 3rd bar displaying tp. I went and used "hide if not in grp" tick-untick for a refresh, in case anyone experiences similiar behaviour of still not havin the tp barI lied, it was actually introduced in 3.07.
It's on your party member overlay, the one that's on the top left and underneath your LB bar by default. You know how you had a third bar next to your mana bar, but it didn't show it for anyone else in your party?
Now they added that third bar to your party.
It does mean pretty much that. Cuz ps4 only players operate in the dark unless they have a pc parsing friend or literally eat "perfect rotations" on reddit. No clue what your point is besides "im on ps and awesome, please clap now". Ps users arent handed the tools pc masterrace is, thats bull unless u bring arguments (and im convinced ps4 hardware can handle it. If not, my bad and sry)

I don't think i'm the only BRD out here that has to play the job because of static needs.Sure we all got used to this new playstyle that feels like we are driving a huge pile of shit without a steeringwheel, but that doesn't mean we enjoy it.I git gud and still hate
Considering the fact that these tools are third party tools, you can probably guess why that is. These tools aren't provided by the producer, they are external programs written by random people. If the PS doesn't allow you to do that, PC masterrace is called that way for a good reason. If it does, you can write a parser for yourself or hope someone else does and download it on the PS. If the PS allows that.
These potential customization limitations are large part of the reason why consoles are still considered inferior to the PC versions. One could likely write a program to extract the game's visual assets, alter them in photoshop (HQ textures for example), then have a program to re-inject it into the game. Is such a thing possible on the PS? I don't know, I don't have one. I'm just saying.
But what i actually wanted is for the producers to step in and pick up what the third parties have been doing forever, in a well thought out manner. Since they ask money for their product I expect them to do the work on it, not me or other players. As both a pc gamer (ego shooters, strategy games, building games) and consolero (rpgs, racing, gta clones, survival horror), i think they should work out benefits of the other platforms and adopt them as long as it doesnt come at a high cost of losing more important aspects. i consider the fact of not updating my hardware to play newly released software a major console selling point among others. Thats why I said if the hardware cant handle it, i get the point. I think it can. And went lazy mode to call the overall situation of parse bull, for this one crossplat product i sub. Im on the producers forum, hoping "someone else does it". Them. Its just my two cents, and if it doesnt happen, thats ok (but bull to me)
Ps: I cannot guess the reason. Dont think its copyright issues or hardware restrictions, and dont think its a major workload or "there are more important issues to be adressed" devside. What is it?

Never played an MMO with add on support I take it?Originally Posted by Aiselia

Two things.
1. Adding the parse to the client can increase server loa by a fair margin. The primary way this has been worked around is parsing from game files and memory data which pushes the burden to your computer as opposed to the server.
2. MMOs where parsers as comprehensive as ACT or Recount built in are pretty rare, in almost every major raiding MMO the parser is community made, the difference is that other MMOs have official add-on support which makes then easier to manage community and dev side.
We already have parsers, a "set rotation", and kick people from groups for doing dramatically (not 50) lower DPS (though the problem of doing worse DPS is usually rooted in bad play and awareness anyways). The game is already quite homogenized in that raid DPS and beating enrages or DPS checks is 90% of fight design and I don't understand how you think parsers add to that assumed problem. The game already caters to a lazy 99% that doesn't care about challenging content or even succeeding at the easier content they have full access to, which parsers won't change either way. What about parsers removes a sense of "uniqueness"?
Whether or not they create an official parser or a plug-in for using one "officially", it doesn't change that these goalposts are there. Acting like it "hides" them is willful ignorance. Not everyone is a parse-riding idiot, and they are really a minority. It's a confirmation tool: one watches you play your job badly, calls you out on it, and can also back it up with parse results. Most people who parse aren't going to advertise it publicly. They will kick people regardless of the result.
Issue is that nobody can take a lick of criticism.![]()
