Actually I don't think you can put it that way without some restrictions. No doubt it is the case in the first weeks when most groups will be composed of players that hover around the maximum available gear available until that point. The high end raids are no doubt balanced to be hard for such groups, however as players continue to clear the raid and upgrade their gear, they will naturally overgear it after some time, before it is replaced by a new raid. In turn, minor errors in playing rotation or encounter are more easily forgiven, not everyone will have to be at the peak any more.

Even the parser isn't officially released, ppl will keep using 3rd party parser. And you can't tell them to not doing that.

You can. Remove combat log, declare ripping data directly from the game bannable offence and see that through. It's just a matter of how you go about it.

If it weren't for console limitations I would agree that there doesnt need to be an in game parser. However, with the fact that alot of us don't have an option that some other users have leaves me at a loss there. Console users don't even have the option available to them, so giving some way for those players to more accurately watch their numbers sounds good to me. I have a hard time believing that if your even remotely competent at your job that this will be game breaking for anyone. Maybe I'm a glass half full kinda person, but I'm just hearing alot of doomsayers in this thread that automatically thing that if a parser gets put in then its gonna be a vote kick fiesta. The fact of the matter is if you have eyesight, and you can watch the screen while you play, then you can spot an under performing DPS from miles away. This isn't gonna change that.

And therein the problem resides. Its not anyone's place to criticize others in that way or kick them from groups. Its why "Low DPS" isnt on the valid list of reasons to kick someone with vote kick, and why you can report people for citing it as Abuse of Vote Kick.

Most aspects of this game are multi-player.

If someone wants to run around the open world spamming terrible rotations, they have the freedom to do that without being criticized.

If someone wants to play so badly in a group setting that it significantly impacts the experience of 3-7 other players, they can improve their gameplay or get the hell out.

Again, we're not talking about "okay, but not perfect" here; we're talking "so bad that the rest of us need to pull double duty" or "so bad that this reasonable DPS check cannot be cleared at the expected ilvl."

To me that is very strange place to suddenly joke, in the middle of a raging debate. It could of course be that but it did not come through to me as a joke. This is the problem of the online forums I guess.

It's your 15 bucks, but it's still a team game. You work with other 3 or 7 or 23 players to clear a certain content, all of them paying as much as you. Expecting a bare minimum (trying to use a correct rotation instead of facerolling on the keyboard) is not elitist, no matter how you put it. It is just not - it's not something that would "purge the sickness" and leave the top ones, so the very term elitist is wrong.

I'm surprised no one said anything to this but I'm going to call BS here. Lalafell Pot Pie isn't a food in game you just made that up. Also Tailor-Made Eel Pie isn't meant to be eaten it's a turn-in for the Zodiac portion of the relic quest. If you ate it you wouldn't get any stats from it.

Its the elitests attitude that they somehow "own" the game and have the authority to decides who plays and who doesnt based on numbers that is the problem and parsers are big enablers of this.

Expecting the other party members to pull their weight makes people elitists. Nice.

To be honest, I'm kind of scared that people thought my story about being kicked over not eating a completely non-edible food instead a completely non-existing food was meant to be serious. :/

Even if I was intending that to be taken seriously, do you honestly think I care about my credibility among people who literally have said they haven't read my arguments and then make things up because they assume it's what I'm saying, regardless of how many times I specifically state the opposite?

Do you really think I care about my credibility when I've specifically said I'm not anti-parser and then people jump at me for being anti-parser?

Do you truly, truly (outrageously) think that I care about my credibility when people try to convince me that parsers would be great for allowing people to track their numbers for improvement when I've already said repeatedly that I agree?
